Can you make greens on free site

Hi, new to the whole referrals site thing and willing to give it a go, i want to set up a site to promote my account on freebie jeebies but not sure if it will be of any use from a free site.

Just wanted to hear some feedback of your experiences and if its a neccessity to have a proper domain rather than a free one from one of the various companies out there (freewebs for example) since money is tight i would much rather set something up on a free hosting site but wont bother if its going to be totally in vain.

Looking for any input, great site btw x

I can't speak from experience as I've still yet to get my freebie site up and running, but hosting a freebie site on a free webhost should be fine as long as your webhost doesn't prohibit that kind of website on their accounts!

At present, I'm building my site on a free Brinkster account that is still knocking around from a friends project of several years ago...And although I'm hoping to host it there also, I'll be checking Brinkster's T&Cs first to make sure referral nets aren't prohibited.

As for domains, it's always worth buying a decent one. Many users will feel more assured of honesty and professionality (And be more likely to respond to leaflet campaigns etc) on a top-level domain then they will if the site's on a subdomain like myaccount.free.brinkster.net.

i have weebly hosting.

and 123-reg as a domain host. the domain host cost me 7 quid for 2 years. i think thats cheap. everyone has told me to have a domain name cause it seems more legit lol.

You can always make it a .co.cc ...it looks better, its shorter and its free to do.

Does that site only allow you to create content through templates? i am quite good at web design so wanted to create something completely original to look as professional as possible but a read of the T's and C's seem to suggest that i have to make the site using their tools.

any other sites like this that allow the creation of a free site with a .com/.co.uk url?
