11 methods to gain greens

I thought I'd post a topic to help people get greens. I have just started but I plan to use all these methods in the future! Here we go.

1)
Print business cards with your details, your URL, a simple 1-3 step process of how it works and a logo and ask to put them in newsagents, cheap game shops etc along with a flyer.

2)
Stand outside a game shop (make sure you are allowed to do this first) and ask people "excuse me, would you be interested in a free xbox?" or whatever shop or business sells what you are trying to get!

3)
Create a website. Do NOT add cheesy music to the background and do NOT use silly colours. The point is to make it look very professional and authentic. Most people think these things are scams, so if they come to a website with an annoying midi rap song playing in the background, they will be just about convinced.

4)
Sign your website up for as many search engines as you can and SEO the site the best you can.

5)
Optionally, use google adwords to help advertise your site

6)
Create a blog and link it to your website.

7)
On a social network, change your status to sometihng like "Just recieved a free TV from freebiejeebies! message me if you want to know how"...

8)
Obviously come on websites like this for G4G trades.

9)
Look for ads on craigslist for people wanting something you can offer, whether it be gardening or the design of something, and do the job in exchange for a green.

10)
Ask friends and family to sign up.

11)
Offer friends, family or whoever is hesitant to sign up a bit of money! Paying $10 for a 40" LCD TV is more than worth it!

That is all I can think of doing at the moment. I will add to the list when I can think of more!

Nice little list for newcomers, although number two is illegal without permission, and when it comes down to it, you're never going to get permission.

It isn't always illegal. And that is why I mentioned to get permission first!

It's thier shop and they can give you a right good telling off. And you'll never get permsission considering your attempting to rob them of customers...

Never-the-less, thanks for posting. This will indeed come in handy to some people.

Very handy list and good advice, can't see how number 2 is any different to people that hand out gym membership flyers or English language school leaflets

Well I have been v busy and only just started but I have four referrals already. Only one is green though but they all will go green after I get them to complete it! They are friends of mine. My girlfriend signed up to the intuit offer but it didn't register for some reason, and it is still red, so she contacted freebie jeebies about it...

It might be their shop, but I'm fairly certain they just have to suck it up if you're doing it on a public street outside it, since they have zero authority over you if you're outside their premesis. So unless they decide to buy the patch of street in front of their shop, it isn't illegal and they have no right to tell you to stop. I'm not like a legal expert, so I could be wrong, but I find it very difficult to believe any shop has the right to tell people outside it what to do, even moreso that there could be a crime against it.

Some people make videos on youtube with them receiving their gifts, and put their links in the description so they get referrals through that...I haven't enough greens to get anything yet though but it's a good idea for those who have!

I think handing flyers out in the high street is a great idea. I might pay my brother a fiver to do it for me!

i did this and it can work fairly well if you have a little banter with the person you're handing it to, i found if someone takes a leaflet without even looking at you they most likely throw it straight in the bin lol
