![]() | Money with email follow-up?Hi everyone, Currently, I have 47 users whom haven’t completed any offers. Now, I’m thinking what if I offer a $5/£2.50 payment to their PayPal accounts once they complete an Intuit signup? By that logic, I’d be able to get a 22 referral iPad for £55. Has anybody else tried anything like this? If so, what kind of conversion rates did you get? Here’s the email I’m about to send: Subject: Hello from Get A Free iPod.com - How would you like to earn $5 (£2.50) for FREE? Hello, A short while ago you may remember that you signed up for an account with FreebieJeebies, through Get A Free iPod.com. Unfortunately, it looks like you didn’t actually complete an offer to get started with your journey to get a FREE iPod, iPhone, iPad or Mac. Therefore, in order to convince you to complete an offer and get a free iPod - we’re offering $5 (£2.50 for UK users) for completing a valid offer! This isn’t a scam, and it doesn’t have to cost you anything. We’re going to be totally honest; when you sign up to an offer, we get money back from the company you sign up to. However, we’re prepared to give some of that money back to you in exchange for a valid completion. Your offer doesn’t even cost you anything. If you select to set up an ‘Intuit’ trial, you get 30 days of their website service for free, with no obligation. Once you’ve set up your account, we’ll know within 48 hours. Once your signup has become valid, we’ll credit your PayPal account with $5 (£2.50 for UK users). You don’t need to contact us, we’ll automatically credit your account once it appears on our system. So, that’s $5 (or £2.50) for FREE! You will need to set up a PayPal account for this, but this can easily be done at www.paypal.com. Once you’ve completed your offer, you’ll just need to get a few friends to do the same and you’ll receive a FREE iPod, iPhone, iPad or Mac - totally FREE! Thanks, Sarah Get a Free iPod.com - Get iPods, iPhones, iPads and Macs for FREE! (Sally doesn’t exist by the way, it’s just a tip from the useful sticky thread about email replies). |

| Mini Mac | Good idea, but why are you offering less to UK referrals? |

![]() | That's a rough conversion, I suppose it should be £3 really. I'll probably just pay everyone in dollars anyway since there's no easy way to give all users the same rate. Most of my referrals are from the US/Canada. |

![]() | Great idea, I'll try this - especially with a girl name since all my referrals are probably male. I have tried this ages ago and got replies like sorry got no cc. I'd offer more than £3 to secure a referral. I don't have a site yet, but your template email sounds professional. I emailed 20 refs and got only one green, so it's a good way to get green outta nothing. Thanks for sharin' |

![]() | Well, I’ve just sent them all - I’ll keep you posted. There’s not much you can lose from this really; even if the leads don’t verify, it’s still just £3. PS. I changed it back to Sarah! |

![]() | That’s a possibility. But most of my non-completed referrals are from the US/Canada, which would make the proposition irrelevant and LOVEFiLM would probably take a while to become completed, instead of the gravitas of receiving $5 in less than 48 hours. Otherwise, it’s a good idea! |

![]() | I thought that you're meant to avoid using words like scam in emails? Is there a way of putting a more positive spin on it? |

| Mini Mac | Don't send too many emails as they will just ignore it. You only sent it yesterday and now you've sent another one, at this rate they will be waiting and thinking you'll be upping it if they don't do it. |
