It wasn't banned for me... but looking at the traffic estimate for iphone, you'd be better off just buying one

Quote:
Summary (per day)
Average Estimated CPC
UK£0.73 - UK£1.09
Total Estimated Clicks
179 - 227
Total Estimated Cost
UK£130.05 - UK£247.71

PPC would worl brilliantly if you could track conversions (i.e. yellows/greens), however as the conversion point is on an external site this is not possible. Therefor managing the account is not possible.

I am a PPC analyst and look after five clientsand unless I had a free voucher, I wouldn't bother as it would be a bit of a gamble.

You can use words like apple and iphone as keywords, however you wouldn't be able to have them in the ad copy. Still, having keywords like "apple" and "iphone" are too generic because if "broad matched" they would be shown for any search with "apple" or "iphone" in ie "free iphone aps" "apple crumble recipe". This would greatly reduce your quality score as your CTR (click through rate) would be terrible.

Long story short, adwords is OK if you have free vouchers.

Those estimates stated above will not be accurate, even if they are 73p is not a huge amount to pend on a click.

I didn't think about tracking until you mentioned it.

Tracking would be possible if you only linked to your site with the adwords and had no other traffic source - such as having a sub-domain just for adword clicks, eg "adwords.yourdomain.com". You can then see it in the referring URL in FJ.

It would still be tricky to see which keywords/ads convert best (keyword.ad2.aaa.com?)

(This is all hypothetical, and I'm not suggesting it as a sound solution)

It would be good if you could pass an ID to FJ

A converions point is just a page though, not an action. So although someone may hit the conversion point they may not convert (i.e. go green).

Ive used adwords before and I managed to get a few extra users to my site there was definte clicks on the ads I was creating yet the conversion rate was even lower (I think I got about 3 sign ups after running the campaign for 5 days) Dont let this discourage you however I never really put alot of effort into it.

Bottom line: You will get visitors to your site if you choose your keywords carefully although it might not be alot. I did a search of my own text ads using common keywords in google and surprisingly mine was second in the list. So I would say give it a go.

Although I would reccommend you give Facebook a try as this allows you to really narrow down who you want your ads aimed at.

I've looked at facebook's ads a while ago (for a completely different site), and their targeting is pretty precise

But still, as tronsmith has pointed out, it will be hard without being able to track conversions

With Facebook Ads you End up with a CTR or about 0.00001%. Google is the best platform.
