You may also want to add about them needing to complete an offer for you to do the website, otherwise as it stands at the moment I could just signup and not complete an offer and still expect a website designed...

This idea is fairly similar to an offer ran by freebieforumula.com / .co.uk, can't really remember which it is. It seems to be quite successful.

Seems clear enough to me, you do say once your offer is complete....

Why only 16 though? Don't see why you couldn't do unlimited pages like that freebie formula or whatever it is.

Now i'm thinking of doing this too lol, it's a brilliant idea

quick question....where will you advertise this ? seems like its going to be hard getting referrals using this ...The reason I say this is because people are already skeptical about completeing offers. If they sign up and complete an offer they is no guarentee that they are going to get a new subdomain.

However after saying that ...this method could BLOW up HUGE and get you yons of referrals if you do it correctly.

in terms of advertising i am simply making good use of my facebook friends, twitter and free adwords credit.

i only want to do 16 as i dont want to be constantly doing subdomains and 16 referrals is what i need for a free iphone.

as far as seo goes it may well help out with backlinks. however, i cannot be sure of how much as i am not an SEO expert :S

the idea is to simply get people going easily, get my referrals and get a free iphone for my girlfriend

doing the subdomain thing cost me nothing, i get unlimited subs, bandwidth and webspace with my resellers hosting. all its costs is my time.

unfortunately i don't think so as subdomains is counted as completely different domain by google and did you get this comp idea from freebie scout, because i had the same idea 2 weeks ago but haven't set up my website yet.

sorry no i have only just got on to all this free scene (in the last few days) and not yet come across freebie scout yet.

If it is gonna convert people it'd be well worth your time. How long does it take to set them up?

If you do get the iphone, I guarantee you'll want something else!

You could always just take out the bit saying that it'll never be repeated. Then if it works well there's no issue.

Don't think it improves SEO unfortunatly as gifts.fj and apple.fj are treated as different websites altogether.

You could however do foundonline.co.uk/freeiphone rather than the sub domains, that would increase SEO if the person was to get backlinks for their page.

Seriously gonna look up doing this now, and foundonline you will get the bug if you get your shiny new iPhone
