OK, and the signal booster you had set up? What's the actual name of the type of technology? I know nothing and it's difficult to research on the internet when you don't know what it's called!

BLUE 2 | Bluetooth Advertising Bluetooth Marketing software Blue2 250m = Software £69

still need the transmitted / long range thingy. it all seems to be he same hardware idea tho, the XRange2000 ...

Long Range Bluetooth 1.0 - XRange2000 is a long range Bluetooth transmitter - SharewarePlaza

but im confused as it comes with a disk? just an install disk do you think? so used to everything either being plug'n'play or internet download these days.

the software can't be too difficult to rip / create / torrent or something? just needs to be done. not that i'd do that, as i'd definatly buy the software ... just saying is all lol

EDIT: when picking software i'd probably go for something which has alot of stats analysis, visulisation etc, so you can see your targets / audience / users / data sets etc. would be useful

Merlin Wireless - Bluetooth,Embedded Serial Bluetooth Modules, Bluetooth Cable Replacement Systems and Bluetooth Servers AIRcable Host XR

Quote:
The only long-range (10 km-class) Bluetooth® USB "Dongle".

Key Features:

* Bluetooth 2.0-compatible
* Standard USB connector
* Works with Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X
* 1 km external antenna included
* Extended range
* No external power needed
* Aluminum case for reduced interference and increased sensitivity
* Extends the range of your existing bluetooth devices
* Built on AIRcable's Bluetusk™ long-range technology.

The AIRcable Host XR, equipped with an extremely powerful, highly-sensitive Bluetooth transmitter, can achieve an unparalleled range.

You can expect to achieve a range of 1km with the Host XR straight out of the box. With a 9 dBi omni-directional antenna, the extended range is up to 2 km, and with the 18 dBi directional antenna, it is up to 10 km.

Given its high sensitivity, it can extend the range of weaker Bluetooth devices like cell phones and headsets by hundreds of metres. With most other devices only capable of a maximum range of 10 metres, no other Bluetooth device comes even close.

Plus, this long-range Bluetooth transmitter connects to any computer with a Bluetooth connection and can handle virtually any Bluetooth profile available. Uses include standard data, streaming data, headset communication (like Skype calls) and stereo headphone communication.

With the AIRcable Host XR you can also extend the range of communication from your PC to other Bluetooth devices.

The AIRcable Host XR\'s Bluetooth radio receiver is many times more sensitive than the average Bluetooth device.

The AIRcable Host XR is supplied with a USB power lead.
i think this is the 9dBi antenna extender for a tenner

but cant find the 18?? chances are not more than £20 tho. 10km is mental tho? how can that be? if i could send a message out to every mobile phone with bluetooth enabled within 10km, i'd be laughing!! surly even if only 0.1% signed up that would be thousands of pounds?

even so with a 2km antenna you'd be looking at about 12,560,000 squared meters and with a 10km antenna with a 15 degree radius you'd bosh about 13,085,000 squared meters in one go. leave it on for an hour, rotate 15 degrees and get the same area, again, again, repeat etc.

yeh, not a great review. But he was in a basement which is mental for buggering your signal. i know at my house we had an extension and the walls got lined with metal foiled coated insulation and no wifi at all gets thru it. sunny day tho, sitting outside in the center of london would get better distance obviously, or even just not being in a basement, lol. if you hung it outside your window / in your garden whist your at home???

if your in a shopping center you may need to get a little bit of privacy. if i saw someone with that on a table id think 'bomb' personally, or WTF is that massive antenna for... and that's a serious comment from me for once!

that blue2 software tho seems kinda sweet. features look awsome. i recon if this method is refined that there will be some good localised results for people. especially if you have the location/job/availability etc ...

Re: New method under testing

I'm gutted, I'm in the perfect location right now (the London Apple Store) but have none of the stuff yet as I've not had time to sit at a co puter and sort it out!

Just on my iPhone so can't really do anything

Been putting my quickfreeipad.co.uk page on every iMac I can though! Looks really good on a 27" scream though! Nice and eye catching with the tempting Free iPad picture!!

also, if you have a Macbook or something, can you just bosh the software Via parallels? i woulda thought so but am not to sure on hardware restrictions etc????
Wow mate good shout! I go there now and then so will look out for your ad!!

May just pop into s&l and see the man behind the moose!!

I'm thinking that the range on the bluetooth might be stupidly small on integrated bluetooth though.
