How about just standing in a town centre with a bill board saying 'talk to me to find out how to get free stuff' or something similar, and then when people come over you explain how it all works, give them your buisness cards or what ever, with your web address on where they can be linked to your referals

its cheap, its direct and probably easier to be more persuasive and the people might understand it more and not think its a scam so much

and if you have a laptop with wireless internet capabilites you could possibly help them sign up for it there and then

only problem is i dont know whether youd need a permit to do this?

You may need a permit depending on where you live. I do.
I personally think It's not the best method as your putting yourself in a vulnerable position and its quite embarrassing

what kind of vulnerabilities where you thinking of?

damn why is the freedom of speach not free?! and yeah if you need a permit ill probs need one too! im living in a tourist town after all so its not surprising, although we do get a fair few street performers of sorts, i might have to look into it still...

i wonder if you did it in a way where it was like research, would you still need a permit?
for example you do a survey asking whether people truelly believe they can get free things or not, and then you can give them some linkage to your site?

EDIT: oh and i used to do telesales, and im sure i could grin and bare all the jeers, ive done it plenty of times so far through life, lol

Which tourist town do you live in?

I'm pretty sure Chigley tried this with handing out business cards, although I don't remember how he did.

Also, if you were to help them sign up there and then, that would break the rule of walking people through, telling them how to do it etc, which isn't alloweed (on freebiejeebies anyway, not sure about other networks)

i think youd only need a permit if you had some sort of stand, but just handing out business cards is fine, im pretty sure of that, and if you do get stopped by a bobby just appologise and say you didnt know and im sure they'll let you off with nothing more than a warning not to do it again

All from the same IP address as well, just to keep it looking nice and tidy.
Wouldn't want to clutter up the reporting system with lots and lots of different ones now would you...
