Here is what I hope is a very good suggestion that is followed up!!

A lot of us use wordpress......

What I am suggesting is a 'widget' that allows people to select a product from amazon....... calculate how many greens it would need, and then allow them to sign up with this as their chosen item.

The reason for this is that I feel that people are saturating the popular items, but what if you dont want an iphone or a console - what if you want a pressure washer or a set of saucepans??

I think that this would be easily achievable by the sites and would not need to be restricted to wordpress.....

I know this feature is on the actual sites, so it shouldnt be too hard to port across I imagine!!

We did look at a select style search box that was embeddable within our users sites, however there were some security issues (as the script needs to run on our server) and I don't believe we ever figured out a way round them. I'll have a chat with chiggles at some point and see if it's possible.

what about the entire idea... then actually allowing them to sign up from 'my site' with their gift selected??

Yeah they way I thought it would work would be for them to search for the item on your site, and then when they click 'add to basket' this takes them to our site with your ref link with those gifts already in the basket - that what you had in mind? It'd only work really for select as far as I can see

Well, we did contemplate having a search box like that for custom orders as well but we don't want to limit people to amazon - it's swings and roundabouts really

What about expanding on the whole idea, and offering 1 page sites under the fj domain name, such as grabrail.freebiejeebies.co.uk.

Maybe use a specific template designed and owned by yourselves but with the ability on there to choose your gift.

allowing user pages was something we thought about but were worried about the amount of space required - our spanking new server may be able to cope though so we'll have to look into it more

Love that idea.

There was a competition some time ago where someone got a subdomain like this I think? I see it a lot over the net
