Well, if you want results, you would divert them to your site. Otherwise they'll be like "what the!?" and leave. Also, always use bit.ly

Basically, you CAN'T SPAM LINKS on Twitter, or you might get trolled by an anal twitter user. In my case, phinix or whatever the heck his crap moron name was. (Sorry, but he was an ass)

So if you DO want to spam links, I'm not sure, but going to settings and protecting your updates should work. Protecting your updates means that anyone who you're not following..
"Only let people whom I approve follow my updates. If this is checked, you WILL NOT be on the public timeline. Updates posted previously may still be publicly visible in some places. "
