I don't know what they did, but it originally read: "iPhones, iPods, HDTVs, Cash... ..."

So they automatically changed stuff and I couldn't change it back unfortunately.

(also, you had to put a phone number, so hopefully people will just go to the website and not phone the fake number!)

So you put it in the paper now MJ10, if so 11th June is your first ad is it?

I'm thinking where to put my ad and under what category as some sites categories look a bit bland and i'm unsure if that's the best place to put my link!

yes it is! Looking forward to the results. Especially as it's in 4 newspapers (inc Metro) and Online.

I went under electricals, but you can choose TVs or whatever suits.

it'll be two more than I wouldn't have got without it! And seeing as I only have 1 I need any break I can get! Plus if I only get 2 at least I'll have paid off the advert cost. (Really I hope I get more but knowing my luck I'll get 1or2 reds only!)

Yes, seems a bit misleading the way you said 'I'm giving away...' because you're not giving anything away. And secondly the title under 'Look'...'Giving Away Stuff', also very misleading because again, you're not giving away anything and secondly it really doesn't grab ones attention like 'Free iPhone?' or 'Want a FREE ps3?'. Just sounds a bit unprofessional...if I were to read it I would immediatly be thinking 'this is some kind of hoax'.
And finally...the fake phone number. Again I don't think thats a good idea. People are very sceptical and seeing a phone number as '01234 567890' looks dodgy. People will see that and think this is some kind of joke.

I'm not trying to put you down because its great you are taking the initiative and doing this...I just think for your £27 you could be doing yourself some favours by changing pretty much all of it and making it sound a lot more professional and not like a scam or hoax.

Just my opinion but best of luck with it

You could have put a mobile number (from a free sim card) and recorded an answerphone message (professional) saying that your 'team' are currently out of office but you can visit your site.

Well I had asked for some content advice but none came. The "look" was the most relevant heading banner they had. I'm sure I could've made it better with time effort and advice but wanted to make the next paper. As for the number, I had to put one, I wasn't going to put my own, I don't have an alternative number, I've said look at the website.

Thanks for the advice for next time tho.

Anyone want to give a decent content example? What did the OP put in theirs?

When i get home i'm paying one of the kids from across the road to deliver 500 business cards to homes for £10. Will let you know how I get on. Will also look to advertise in the local newspaper. Cheers for letting us know mate.
