Encouraging people to complete an offer?

SO, today I had my first random sign up and complete an offer. I've had plenty of traffic to my site and quite a few people register...but even with e-mails they don't seem to have completed any offers.

My question: Is it bad etiquette to e-mail someone after signing up pointing them in the right direction? They signed up for the LoveFilm trial and I was thinking about firing out a quick e-mail just saying thanks and reminding him he must rent a DVD for the offer to complete.

This bad? Or is it common practice?

Cheers!

Well, I'll point you to a video on this one that'll pretty much sum it up...:

Sorry, reading back my question was really badly worded.

I know it's OK to e-mail people who have registered to try and convince them to complete an offer.

But today someone did complete the lovefilm offer and it's pending at the moment, is it cool to e-mail them and remind them to rent a DVD during their trial?

Hmm... Personally, I think you should wait a bit, otherwise when they recieve an email from a person they hardly know, explaining to rent a DVD from LOVEFiLm, I would feel slightly stalked. Like someones always tracking what they are doing. It might put them off a bit.
Give them 4 days or so, THEN send the email

Haha, yeah...I know what you mean.

Just some people may not know they HAVE to rent one...although it's mentioned on my site. Thought it may be good to do it sooner rather than later, but I s'pose a few days will make no harm

I would have thought they have already rented a dvd since it has gone pending?

How do you know which offer they've completed? I've got a couple of random people sign up now to freebiejeebies but the status says "Not completed" and I don't know what they've signed up for. Is there anyway to find out?

Well all my sign ups are on Kudos.

I have people that are registered who are sitting as 'No Offer Completed'...the people that have signed up for an offer all say 'LoveFilm Pending' or whichever offer they have done. I'm pretty sure all the offers appear straight away, i.e. as soon as you sign up for LoveFilm, and will sit as pending for 28 days until LoveFilm confirm it has been completed correctly?

I think after 28 days lovefilm automaticaly completes (atleast thats what i gather from the other thread) and then the rest take different amounts of time for the company e.g. coral to get back to FJ

For me i have had 2 reds go geen today. All i did was send an e-mail saying , hi you signed up but didnt complete an offer bla bla bla and then at the end i put 'If after asking me any questions you still DONT want to complete an offer then get back to me and i'll remove you off my list'
Ive had 2 people go green and 1 person e-mailed me this morning with a few questions and i think he's willing to go green. I think the best thing is to just be nice and give them the choice. DONT SPAM THEM lol !

If you want then i can post my whole e-mail here or in a new thread. Just ask

I wouldn't mind seeing the email mate. The one I send out doesn't get many replies.

okay then

Hi,

This is just a reminder to tell you that you have signed up to http://apple.freebiejeebies.co.uk/XXXXX

You have not yet completed an offer. It is very important that you complete an offer. I recommend you complete the Coral offer because its quick and easy !

If your still worried about ANYTHING then please just e-mail me back and i will be very happy to help you.

If you have any questions then just get back to me.

If you decide that you don't want to fill in any offers then just e-mail me so that i know and can cross you off my list.

Thank you very much for you time

Regards

Ahmed

Its simple and they can read it all without thinkning 'ive had enough *DELETE*' I recommended coral cos i cba waiting for any love film pendings.

Well, my question was if it's cool to e-mail people once they had signed up to an offer...just ensuring they knew how to complete the offer properly. Such as renting a DVD with lovefilm or depositing money and playing it through with coral.

There's plenty of threads with e-mail tempates. I'd say the 'It is very important that you complete an offer.' is a little bit...forecful?

Whats the title of your email?

As anything with 'Free' in the title is pretty much always put into the spam bin!

I personally wouldn't send an email telling them how to complete the offer.

And no, not really as this is true and they need to know how important this is for them to get their free gift.... you would be surprised but people do email and say, along the lines of "I have signed up, but my iPhone hasnt arrived... what have I done"

and the answer is because they havent completed an offer, or referred people

if its says "offer not competed" then they haven't done one, those are the people you want to email.

It will go pending or green pretty quickly after they start an offer and it will say which one pretty obviously.

You can hover over their ref number for more info

It could be classed as a walkthrough but FJ new video comp shows that you can guide so if you have made a video for the Fj comp, then send a link to that put it to good use!
