Any tips for Referrals?

Hello all,
I am new and looking for some referrals advice I am not trying my friends yet they are difficult to get them to believe you xP
I am in the midst of creating my own website (Thats if Fast-Hosts wasn't so slow!)
I would appreciate some more advice on how to get referrals xD

Friends are definately the easiest to get, especially when you get some proof of it working. I managed to get two referrals on my first day by just tlking peoples ears off lol. They're more willing to do it if they have nothing to lose, so the lovefilm offer is great, or if you want to put up some cash, give them some money to do the coral offer. Just keep at it, if you get some momentum going you can get loads of referrals quickly.

Try not to Beg people too much,
All of my referral's (Non trade's) have been people I opened a conversation with untill they noticed my msn name,
Brought it up
and Told them about it and left them,
If they lack the knowledge to Complete the offer chances are they wont believe you.
