It depends how you connect to the internet. Is the the connection provided by the halls, or do you have to set up your own boradband i.e. with BT etc.

If the connection is provided free by the halls, then you probably all have the same IP as you'll connect through a proxy server.

Had a look at some of my friends IP's and some are different, dunno if thats because we have wireless networks. Would be great if it was the case with all the rooms, could get lots of referalls quickly.

I think it will still probably be considered the same IP address

I wouldnt risk it mate. I got 4 of my mates to sign up in the uni bar, at different times of the week and checked the IPs were different, but 4 of them are on hold.

The ip address you see on the pc is an internal network IP and will most likely begin with 192.168.x.x The external IP that the Freebie site will see will be the same on all the pc's as it all goes through the same gateway.

I would ask the sites directly, it is unfair for them to go on hold when different addresses can be proven (I presume you have room numbers?)

The reason they don't allow it is not just cos of the one IP address. The contact address will also be the same as it's the halls. So from the networks point of view, there's nothing to show that you've not just gone in to every room and signed up as a different name yourself.

Even if the credit card details are not the same, the networks don't have those details.
