not worth the risk, most councils have extensive cctv networks covering their town/city centres, and I know (from my reliable council source in Leeds (Emma))that in Leeds without a license its a £70 on the spot fine

Thanks Jon
Looks like door-to-door is my only option then
Any idea how many greens 560 business cards would be likely to net me?
Thanks again!

at the best from any form of door to door id expect a max return of 10% but more realistically 1-4% return

Completely depends on the cards obviously.

If it just says the website name and "get a free iPod!" it will be binned straight away I would imagine. You'd need to put some reassuring details on there, I'm sure they'd read a fair few words if it was written well.

Then you've gota think about where you're sending them - direct ref link or your site? Direct link - expect 80% to chop off your referral code. Your website - it better be damn good if anyone is going to get a leaflet drop and end up giving their details away!

I'd expect a few signups from 560, wouldn't expect any greens...

there are a lot of charities who depend heavily on this yet most people walk straight by. doing something like this would only serve to further deter people from stopping in the street, and so id have to say is not a very nice thing to do.

on another note, if you are content spending so much of your time and effort on this, why not do it for a good cause and make much better money than you would through freebies. or spend the same time on a part-time job and again make more money.

getting freebies is supposed to be as easy as possible, otherwise whatever you recieve isn't technically free! you should always consider risk vs reward, rather than get sucked into the excitement of getting greens, just remember what each green is worth.

What country has fines if you give out flyers? Cause I see it all the time in the UK and no one gets fines £70.

you do in Leeds if you don't have a permit for handing them out, it's classed as fly-tipping!
