how am i doing??

I've been trying for a few weeks now (not overly hard as my gf has had a lot of essays and stuff to do on the computer) and i have 16 reds with 4 pending. the 4 pending are all people i know so ive not managed to talk any strangers into it yet.

i sent out 200 opt in emails to UK and 200 to US (for £40) and got nothing from them. Has anyone else had any better results from opt in emails?? or does anyone know any better opt in email services?? (i used htmail)

Ive also being telling people on myspaz and only got one red from that i think.

Not gonna give up though, currently making a site to send people to and im gonna try postering the computer rooms at uni with my site url.
Im just wondering, how much does the URL of my site matter? like will "freemacbookair.com" do better than say "reward.com" (ie doesnt mention free or mac)

oh and let me know if im doing anything against the rules. I've had a read around and dont think i am, but ive noticed there are a lot of ppl who dont realise they are and then get slated by "pros"

Doing well, a 1:4 ratio is brilliant - even if you know the 4 people

I've got a 2:68 ratio

, which isn't really brilliant

You're not doing anything against the rules, the only issue people generally have is when people sign up and post their reflink, thinking that they'll magically get all of eXceem to sign up for them

Good luck getting your freebie, what site are you on?

Oh and the domain name only really matters for SEO purposes (search "SEO" and you'll find about a billion explanations), but if you are going to be doing offline advertsing like posters, you really want something that is short, snappy and easy to remember

Yeah 4 in a few weeks is good going at the moment. Things are slow for everyone right now I think so you're doing OK. Good ratio too.

I wouldn't buy opt-in emails though, waste of money. I think the best methods are ones you can do for free on the whole. The only money I would spend on the freebie business is for the following:-
(1) Buying a domain, and maybe some hosting (though I do mine through Freewebs) for a site,
(2) Some money for offers if you can't/won't do a free one,
(3) Maybe some money for trades if you want to go down that route.

Other than that my general rule when it comes to freebies (at least now) is if you spend money on a method, it probably won't be worth it.

I have had 2 sign ups since I started! no-one has done an offer, still trying to persuade family and friends, but they've started backing away slowly,when i bring it up now.
I've joined two congas so hopefully i'll get things off to a start soon

Same here, when I try to bring up freebie sites in a conversation to my friends or my parent they either ignore me, say I'm wasting my time, or change the subject

really annoying.
