Question

Mass E-Mails

I have a nice amount of reds now, and have sent out an E-Mail to all the people explaining everything in the hope of turning their reds into greens. I was wondering if there was a way of obtaining(legally of course) a large amount of E-Mail addresses in order to introduce people to the various freebie sites and give them our referral links. I know the main problem of this is that it will clearly come across as spam, but if your E-Mail is genuine, it could be worth a few greens maybe. Does anyone know of any resources to get E-Mail addresses, perhaps of 'target' groups of people who may be interested?

there are places which u can pay ££ to have your email sent out to people who have opted in to receive emails of this kind.
do a google search for opt-in emails and u will find some companys.

From what I've read about it, it seems paid for bulk lists are mostly a con because many of the addresses are fake/inactive. I'm sure there are some reputable companies out there somewhere though.

Spamming a referral link is not allowed but if you advertise your website I don't think this will break the T&C.

What about e-mailing your own yellows, is that spamming?

They may have opted-in with the network but not with you. Never thought of it that way before.

You must have a huge hub of targeted email addresses, with the competitions that you ran!

(Not suggesting you spam in any way of course...)

It can't be spamming because freebiesites give you the option to e-mail the people who have signed up, But if you bombard them with a million emails then this could be classed as spamming.

Entrants opted-in to mails as part of the competition T & Cs and I have sent two or three in total. I use a newsletter management system that includes an unsubscribe option with ever communication.

I have an even bigger list of yellows I could add to the distribution list but haven't so far on the basis they didn't opt in to my mails, just the networks'.

Out of curisosity, did you get any new signups/greens from the newsletters?

Their T & C's suggest that all information is collected for their "advertisers". I assume that is not us, the referrers?

I see what you are saying Furb but then why do the likes of freebiejeebies put an email this user tab on the stats page?

I mean surley this is my account page and the advertisers can't veiw it plus if the signups don't do an offer then no advertisers won't be able to see the email addresses.

for mass emails you can try listjoe.com for free. you get crdit every time you read someone else emails and you use those credits to send out those emails to other members just like they send you. I send out 1000 emails every 2 weeks, get at least 5 greens from that. check em out

Thanks - that sounds promising. I had a look at the site and it all sounds a bit complicated to me though Say I just went on there to promote my website which had my referral link, could I do that just by reading E-Mails each day?

I think that might be so that you can identify your referrals. It says refer 'friends' on the site so they would presume you know the people you are referring. But obviously, most of the time this isn't the case.

Having said that, I'm not sure why the e-mail is used when they could use the name instead.
