A few questions about this...

Hi all,

I hope you guys can help. I basically want a basic walkthrough of how this works. Now I know there are FAQ's on these sites... but I have a few questions I'd like asked if possible.

It's obvious this thing works, and I really want a 160gb PS3, which on Freebeejeebies, needs 13 referals.

Now, I'm about to sign up to Lovefilm.com, does this complete one offer, leaving only 12 left?

So then, if friends were to agree to sign up themselves, how do I make sure that when they do, Freebeejeebies.com knows, and adds one offer to my list?

I just don't want to refer people, they do it, and then it doesn't get counted.

Also, more specifically about the Lovefilm stuff, do I just cancel after I've received/sent back my first DVD?

You need to do your offer, plus 13 referrals for the PS3, your offer sadly doesnt count... just the way it works..

In your fj account, you have a refe rfriends section, in there is a ref link you use to get people to sign up through you, this insures it counts on your account.

Talking about cancelling offers is generally frowned upon by the forum as far as I know, so not sure what to say here...

Referrals and your offer are two different things. You have to do one offer and get 13 referrals. In order to get referrals, you'll have to give your friends your referral link. It's be the link on the 'Refer Friends' page, the number at the end of the link is unique to your account and this is how Freebiejeebies know which accounts are your referrals.

As for Lovefilm, to get credit for the offer, you need to rent atleast 1 DVD within the 2 weeks' trial period. Keeping the membership past this is up to you.

So my offer doesn't count, I get that. I get the referal link too, dandy.

As for the cancelling offers, it's just in case people who I'm referring wish to cancel. I don't want to tie them down to something should they not enjoy their free trial. I won't get people just to sign up for the hell of it.

As has been stated, your offer is your offer, it doesn't count towards the total.

Cancelling and such isn't really allowed to discussed here, just a heads up. All you have to do is make sure your referrals have completed the full requirements of the offer, if you look on the FJ site it will be listed as 'sign up to free trial, receive at least one dvd'. If they do that, sooner or later they will go green. Whether they cancel or not AFTER completing these minimum requirements is their call, they are not obligated to to stay on and subscribe but they don't have to just quit either, it is their choice and obviously this way of getting new customers works or there would be no freebie scene. I know my uncle joined Lovefilm as a referral of mine, but is still with them more than a year later.

Just make sure you stick to the rules though, and be patient. That is the best advice anyone can give you. Don't rush and try your luck, because in a month or two you'll be writing a thread about being on hold.

Oh another tip. It sounds as though you have already signed up to the FJ PS3 site. If in the future you want to work on another gift on another site, open a trade in the trade forum, under the section 'want to go green'. Then, someone can make you an offer of cash to sign up to that site under their referral link. That way, you make a little money out of it as well. If you have already signed up then it is no biggie, just chalk it up to experience but it is something to remember for the future.

When someone signs up to Lovefilm, after going through Freebiejeebies with my link, they need to get at least 1 DVD, then my referal will go green once they send the DVD back and Lovefilm receive it.

Am I right?

That will mean they have fulfilled the offer requirements. Going green depends on when Lovefilm update, it should show on your account as pending to indicate they have completed an offer and FJ are waiting for Lovefilm to confirm everything.

As djfonti said, once your referrals have signed up to Lovefilm through their Freebiejeebies account, their status should change to 'pending' within 24 hours. If this doesn't happen, it means it hasn't tracked properly (the offers normally track using cookies but sometimes they get blocked). We can still give credit for untracked offers, your referrals just need to keep the emails they receive from Lovefilm so we can prove their offer completion to our advertisers.

If their offer tracks correctly and their account status changes to 'pending' this means that the advertiser is checking the terms of the offer were met correctly, and this process can take up to 28 days after which time your account status will update automatically.
