How do I improve my google search result rating.
Would be nice if someone could help out!

It's called SEO and there are more threads on this subject than any other. Have a search for "SEO" and you will have an abundance of info.

Here are 3 quick tips (the basics):

1st. Get links from other sites, links from strong sites work better.
2nd. Write useful, unique content/
3rd. only have incoming links and not 2 way links usually works best.

There is of course alot more to this, but this is the basics

also I strongly suggest wordpress to do a lot of your SEO for you:

generator (tells search engines when and where to search)

Start by putting your website with keywords in your sig... but remember to put a link to eXceem somewhere

linking to your site.. thats call link farming and google can ban your site for that. your best bet is having substantial information in your site and alot of it also. also your keywords in your site are also important. and have your site as your signature in emails and forums and then there is the good ole advertising.. the more traffic the higher your rank..

my site is currently 3rd in google when searched for its not amazing but it could be alot! worse i asked my friends to put links on from their sites and it seemed to get up there dont know if that helped but its up there

I think he means when he searched for his site name or URL, so he probably typed in More information for xxxx.co.uk into google or just xxxx if you get what I mean, if he typed in www. He should be first, but if he typed xxxx he says he's third.

Lots of back links from relevent sites using your search term as the anchor text. (like the links in my sig)

You will not get instant results though, it takes time to get up or near to the top of google, just keep at it even if it takes 6 months.
