can anyone walk me through DNS?

hi i'm trying to manage my DNS on 123-reg.co.uk
does anyone know how DNS that could walk me through it on either here on MSN?

okay i've set up my freehostia account and i'm logged into to them and 123-reg.co.uk. my domains are registered with 123 and i want them to be pointed at my freehostia webspace. i know nothing about DNS, MX etc.. and even on 123 it says not to edit the DNS details unless u know what ur doing so i aint done nothing on it yet

its asking me for A, CNAME and TXT records, and MX records??

I've never used Freehostia so not sure how their system works. Have they given you any nameservers to use?

on 123 it says:

DNS

This tool allows you to modify the zone file that holds the DNS information for your domain name. It will only work if your nameservers are pointing to ns.123-reg.co.uk and ns2.123-reg.co.uk if you have changed the nameservers away, the above will have no effect.

OK, follow these steps:

1. Go to https://www.123-reg.co.uk/secure/
2. Scroll down to 'Manage Domains', select the one you want, and click 'Modify Domain'
3. Click 'Change Nameservers'
4. Scroll down and enter dns1.freehostia.com and dns2.freehostia.com as 'Nameserver 1' and 'Nameserver 2'
5. Click 'Change Nameservers'
6. Wait up to 48 hours for the DNS to update and your domain will be working

You're on the completely wrong page. Did you read my instructions?
