Shop window adverts?

Anyone tried advertising with an advert card on a shop window like in newsagents? Obviously get a domain or url shortened link to avoid showing the main website. Might be worth trying.

Do you get charged for posting in newsagents?

How about posting on the lamp posts?

Something that always get my attention are the Tube and Bus adverts (anything to avoid looking directly at the person in front of me....I think I even memorized a few of them!).

I've tried shop adverts - but you will get lots of questions about "what you are selling". People expect you to be selling a puppy, car or cooker, and anyhting else seems to make the shop owners wary. Is is he a drug dealer etc ?

Re: Shop window adverts?

If i had the guts I would. The whole tramp with a sign thing is huge in London and is really taking off in leeds. Six or seven quid for an hour. Thing is I think too many people would kick up a fuss and the police would get involved and start questioning the legaility of "pushing" free sites. I dont want my loved ones finding out that I am a "dealer"

Re: Shop window adverts?

www.ukreg.com £8 for a domain name for 2 years
buy a short domain that you can use over and over again and redirect your referal link to it.

dont call it psp or xbox freebie as once you have your gift
it would look silly advertising freepsp.co.uk if it was redirecting to a xbox site.

so buy a domain like www.3gifts2day or something like that

Re: Shop window adverts?

That is extremely sad paying poor people to hold up a peice of paper. Think of how humiliating and degrading that is.I do not condone this sort of behaviour. Sometimes its not their fault for being out in the street and all you're doing is enforcing this punishment on them by paying money for them to hold up a stupid sign.

racerace1 - I really really hope that you didnt think I was serious about the sign. The abuse sign holders get in the West End is unbelievable, I have seen theatre owners scream at them like they were human garbage.
