Search engines

ive made a site, bin up several days, and am looking to seo it. have done a few minor things but nothing massive.

im wondering how long does it usually take until the crawler bots find and index your site on engines such as google? a few days? weeks?

thanks, grinder.

Re: Search engines

Submit your site to digg and it should be indexed by google within a day or two I think.

Re: Search engines

There are ways in which it can be indexed in a matter of hours, but im keeping that.
Best thing you your to do is just sumbit to bookmarking site, but be careful not to get banned. Or you can submit to propeller and that should index your site within a day or 2

Re: Search engines

Yeah, people will see the story and decide if they like it (Digg It) or not (Bury It).

If it gets enough Diggs quickly enough, it will hit front page and generate lots of traffic. Not easy to do though, it has to be a good story, the Digg community spot spam a mile off.

Re: Search engines

Thats an easy way to get your site banned from digg, you need to show that you are active by maybe diggin other things and submiting irrelevent content, then slip you site in. Digg are currently trying to get rid of so called 'spam' and they ban the sites and the people that submit the spam

Re: Search engines

O, I never even heard of them until now. Hmm...seems interesting. Does Digg have a problem with them?

EDIT: after a quick google scout, I can see why Digg will have a big problem with them

I haven't used them but can't imagine Digg would be too happy!

Re: Search engines

I wouldnt $2 per vote is expensive. You would need on average at least 1000 points to get on the front page. But then again if you can afford it go ahead.
