whats the best programme to make a site?

hi, does anyone have a suggestion as to what the best and pretty easy site making software i should use, thanks oh also i am on a mac if thats useful

oh gosh if you're on a mac then you can knock one up on iWeb in a matter of minutes, its soooo easy! iWeb comes as part of iLife, so you should in theory have it already.

If you dont like the custom templates just create them with a blank page, but they are so easy to put together its unbelievable, then you just publish to a folder and use a programe like SecureFTP to upload all the files to your hosting site.

I use 'WYSIWYG Web Builder' (What You See Is What You Get). It's as easy as drag and drop and no HTML knowledge required WYSIWYG Web Builder

yeh and Nvu is also good if you know a bit of HTML

if you know you're way around web designing then go for dreamweaver as moviedrome mentioned. if you got MS Office, you might also have MS Publisher installed that came with it. you can make websites using that.

Well your question is kind of muffled, you can make a website, so literally a web page on dreamweaver, its a great piece of kit and easy to use, though you can't design a site with it, you can use photoshop to design it, then convert (manually your design to a web page).

Any chance of a bit more detail? Have 'acquired' Dreamweaver, but feel like I could come up with something better myself in PS.

I've always wanted to start creating websites myself.

But never know where to start.

Do I code the site first in Dreamweaver, or do I design it first in Photoshop.

How do I go about designing it ?

Do I do the buttons ?

Do i do the background ?

A lot of questions lol, maybe someone knows an online tutorial which would take me through designing a proper website from scratch.

yeh dreamweaver is definately up there, but you said what's an easy way too, I think if you use something like freewebs then that's a pretty easy way to snap up a site too

No... unless you want to purchase a wesite making software. Otherwise just use online builder like freewebs and moonfruit (sitemaker 4.0)
I personally like sitemaker as it's very easy to use ( No HTML required, just drag & drop). I made my site using it, which, I have to say, looks awesome.
