Online Chat Rooms

Anybody tried this method?
Going to sites with online Java/Flash chat applications and advertising their referral link/website with a little brief description of how this works?

Just interested if I'm wasting my time or not.
Some people have looked promising and I've only been doing it for 5 minutes.
Most people brush you off or resort to cursing, but sod them
If 1% of the people sign up, its good enough for me as there is loads of exposure.

i have and most chat rooms will kick you once you put ur url on their but some wont so you will have to look around and find gaming chat rooms which will allow urls and dont spam the chat rooms if you do it. hope this helps.

the best thing is if i partner up with u and u person 1 and im person 2 and we talk normaly then u say about u have just received an ipod then im like yeah i did that and im just verifying but its for a nintendo ds i really want ipod give me your ref and ill sign up!
i heard this from a thread a while ago and they got 2 greens from it!

I used ICQ chat a while back for iPodNanoGiveaway, got a few greens. I said stuff like:

"Oh you wanted to know the site I got Tim's free iPod from for his birthday didn't you? I got it from www.freebays.co.uk"

In a private chat with some randomer then pause and say:

"Oops I'm really sorry, I was telling my brother where I got my nephew's present from and got the wrong chat! :P"

Sneaky but works really well! The other good trick was to team up with another eXceem member and have a pre-staged/scripted conversation about free iPods in public.

Yeah, get a 'ring' of exceemers together and go into a chatroom, take turns and decide beforehand who's ref link you'll be using. I think the best way would be if someone said 'has anyone seen those sites where you can get a free whatever, must be a scam right?' then someone else say 'no, my friend/brother/sister actually got a free whatever from so-and-so site' and take it from there, remember to use a domain of some sort.

realy need some help with the greens.

i already kind of do this, but not in chat rooms. i do it in Call of Duty 2 on the pc (writing messages in the middle of a German Skermish is no good), gets interest, but only had 2 yellows from it from overseas.

so Jedi and Zara, if you guys do set sumting up, let me know please.

Little tip. Don't everyone give their site address in the same convo. Make a deal so that you both get a go at being the only one to post your site for a chat room, then the other person gets the next chat room. It might put people off if there are too many links being posted.
