Giveaway- give up?

Hey,

I've signed up for my giveaway account and started getting referrals last week. However I'm a bit worried by what I'm reading here about gifts not being sent etc.
Considering I have 0 greens atm, but 7 pending lovefilm offers (from 7 of my friends), would you guys recommend that I switch to another website like freebiejeebie before I ask all of my friends to complete offers? FJ looks a lot more reliable...

why would you want to give up when you say you have 7 pendings?

Personally I would get your other friends to sign up to a new network (such as FJ) and wait for your pendings to go green and order something and just look forward to a long wait. (unless what you want to order is say 8 or 9 greens, then get enough to sign up but no more) You'll get more reliability with someone like FJ or Kudos imo

Because I'm reading a lot of posts by people saying that GA has been very bad at sending out gifts for a few months. Given that my friends will only sign up for 1 offer, it might be more productive to have them sign up to FJ which is apparently reliable.

The other problem with giveaway is that your account is signed up for a specific product. I've signed up to iphone.giveaway, which means that I can't change my gift to something that is less than 13 referrals (8 Gb iphone). So either I get 6 more on GA and take a risk, or I give up on my previous 7 referrals, start from scratch, and try to find 16 new referrals to get me an iphone off FJ.

Can you not do:
1: a custom order... i.e. order "whatever" you want (in this case that = 7refs - ~£126)
2: order vouchers

I wud try a get what you can out of GA for the referrals you have but move your concentration to another site

I'd suggest leaving the site and perhaps signing up to FJ or Kudos. I wouldn't risk referring any more people to a network which has successively failed to send out gifts. I'd leave the 7 pendings, with a view of cashing them out at a later point, should they go green and things improve with GA.

In the current situation there's nothing to gain from continuing to refer to GA, and imo it's a pretty risky thing to do, not meaning to get you paranoid or anything mate.

Start sending your mates to something else, but don't throw away your pending, when they turn green ask for a bank transfer

I would say pendings are a dangerous thing because you do not know if they will even turn green!! (even if they are supposed to!)

Anyway, I've now signed up for freebiejeebies. I also think I'm gonna try to get people to do the coral offer which seems to credit instantly.

My (limited) understanding of custom orders is that I can also ask for a bank transfer for 90% of the value of my green referrals? i.e. if I have 7 greens I get
0.9 * (7*25) = £157.5. Is that correct?

On FJ sites, bank transfers are calculated at £17 per referral (with the exception of HDTV/PS3 dedicated sites, which are £18 per referral). The gift rate is £20 per referral for physical gifts. If you want to know anything else, please ask in the FJ forum, because this isn't appropriate to the GA forum.

Oh sorry, I meant the custom orders for giveaway. I remember reading somewhere that they were calculated at £25 per referral, but only 90% of that if you go for a bank transfer instead of a gift. Anyone knows if that still applies? I can't seem to find a page on GA that mentions this.
