Something very dodgy is going on..

there's not much point bidding unless you want to wait a month for your item anyway, one of my mates won an item and wasn't getting any luck with the reversebid support so i told him to email giveaway which he did and now Lisa and Cherie are telling him he has to wait 30 days for his item, even though his email told him his item will be dispatched once he won and paid for it.

It is easily beaten, your willl be the lowest bid, he would of betted a whole lot and it tells him that he has a unique but not lowest bid. he would then bid down until he finds out its your bid thats the lowest then he would bid last second. This is why you see serial winners.

I tried it once with around 6 hours to go by beting on every 5p i.e 5p 10p 15p etc then working up/down from there, if your buying the bid packages then it can in theory work out quite favourable. The problem is when 2/3 people start to do it!

How does bidding down reveal someone else uniques lowest bid? If person A has the lowest bid, and person B keeps bidding down, if he comes across person A's lowest bid and bids on it, it would just say 'not lowest unique bid' wouldnt it?

But i spose if he does do that and it then his previous unique bid to become the lowest, hed know which was the previous lowest bid. But you cant do all that last second can you?

i could understand if someone has a unique but not lowest bid, then at the last second puts a load of bids on the bids below his unique bid. that might work.

Err.. ive really confused myself and the word 'bid' sounds strange now

I had the lowest unique bids and like 4 other unique bids though on like the last second when I bid. The auction then closes and hes one it which makes it seem like hes got an automatic bidder of something?

If i ever went on this site (which i dont think i will) i would do this:

If the item was say, Amazon vouchers i would look at the closed auctions, seen them go for around (example) the 40p mark. I would place a bid at 60p hoping this was a unique but not lowest bid. If that stayed there right up till near the end of the auction, at the last second i would but bids on everything from 35p-59p (is that around £25 or something?)

Hopefully i would catch whatever was the lowest unique bid for that item and ensure that my first unique bid won.

Thats all theory though and im sure people have already thought of it.
