Retrospectively Robbed :(

Ok, some of you may have seen my post the other day about a a friend i had referred not having shown up in my list of referrals.

I sent a support ticket in and got this response.

Now i understand why this must be the case in certain occurences of this happening, but feel extremely hard done by in my particular case.

I sent my friend (from work) the link which i copied using givaways very own copy to clipboard function. I then sent this link in an email to my friend and he clicked on the link as normal.

He then carried out the sign up process and then completed an offer. After doing this he sent me an email simply saying "Done that for ya mate". I checked my emails at around 5pm and promptly read his email and then went to check my GCG account to see if he had gone pending/green etc!

It was then that i noticed that his email addy was not showing in the list of my refs and so after speaking to him around 6:30'ish i told him to put in a support ticket and i would do the same. So as you can see the referral (which didn't track), the signup, the offer completion and the support tickets (from both me and my ref) all took place on the same day. Even Mr Bean would be able to work out that this is a genuine Error (of account linking) and not in any way a fraudulent attempt to gain an extra ref.

Anyway after a little bit of searching i found this:

Now surely the points outlined above, show that the intent on both me and my referrals part was for him to sign up under my link. Also the dual support ticket submission on both parts must surely reinforce this, and this was all on the same day that my referral signed up.

I will not deny that i am writing this to get Tabs attention, as going through the correct channels is time consuming and frustrating. If Tab is reading this and any further proof is required then simply ask Rich from freebiejeebies (in a PM) if Buzzcore**@*******.com (starred out for obvious reasons) has joined FJ's under my link anytime in the past and he will backup the fact that he has indeed signed up for me at least 4 times (this illustrating his reliability as a ref)

Also as 1 last bit of evidence, i can tell you that my ref did the Jackpot Joy offer, which is the offer that i am championing at the minute, as you can see from my list of refs, 4 of the 6 have completed Jackpot Joy.

I'm hoping that Tab will adopt a bit of common sense towards this case as surely it is plain to see that this is nothing but an error (a bug in the system)

guted for you mate thats just not fair, if you can prove it why not?

had a similar prob, but lee sorted it stright away, have heard that giveaway can be toooo stricked so i stuck with kudos

I stopped using people at work as our isp was stripping the ref code from the links.

so could that have been the prob and why dont you just send the people at work an e-mail to there home e-mail from your home e-mail ?

Sorry i maybe didn't explain myself correctly .... my referral was done from a works mates home addy/pc. Nothing actually took place at work, it was just done by someone i work with.

Tab will hopefully sort it, after all i know that all me and my ref did was follow the usual routine (so to speak)

Yeah Lee at kudos is a sound character & helpful, but i do like try all the networks, and when i got my ps3 from Nextgen giveaway it was a pleasant and smooth process !

what email service/provider does your friend use? i higl doubt the script was broke, if a ref id is passed in the then it would be picked up.

what could have happened is the ? and & characters in the link had ben converted by the email/browser into ansi(think thats crrect when it goes to %22 etc) codes? equally some anti spyware stuff can block ref id's.

yea well i think tab will sort if for you as you have alot of posts and 2 blobs so you could damage there rep on exceem which will lose them more than one ref i am sure

and yea same he is a sound character well as long as my ipod comes when it is suppose to lol due tommrow

lol long story short get a pen drive and put ur ref link on that sorted

I'm not out to damage anyone's rep.

I thought about it for a long time before choosing to air this on exceem, and eventually decided to do so. I would normally go through the correct channels but giveaway are a massive network are the turn around time on support isn't the quickest and i really need to get this sorted (if possible) so i can cash out pre-crimbo !

I can see both sides of the argument. The only thing I would say is that including "robbed" in the title isn't going to start things off too well

Yeah fair point, in RETROSPECT, i should have maybe titled the thread a little differently.

At least it will grab attention eh !!

As for only my and my refs word, yes this is true, but i'm not out to scam anyone .... i simply want things to do as they say on the tin.

The giveaway network says:

" PARTICIPATE IN (1) ONLINE OFFER "
" REFER SOME FRIENDS TO DO THE SAME "
" WE SHIP YOUR ORDER OUT COMPLETELY FREE "

This although may look like it ... is not a side swipe at giveaway. As stated before i got my ps3 from them and was very happy, but i just think my case should be reviewed thats all.

I do think that some referrals do small things that allows them to get profit, which i don't blame them for
such as listing
"sign up"
"complete an offer"
"refer friends" (in that order, offer before refer friends)
thus giving more opportunities to complete the offer b4 finding that it's hard to refer friends and putting the other sites on the network on the page which will end up as more people will be un-referred an they're ratio's might be better
