80GB PS3 Confirmed.

Hi all,

Just had my supplier confirm that I will be receiving the 80GB PS3 next week. Only difference from the 40GB model is the hard disk size and the fact they will now come with a Dual Shock 3 rather than the regular sixaxis controller.

I'll be updating the sites today to show the new model.

i think tab answered my question with this Only difference from the 40GB model is the hard disk size but i wasnt sure.

i always ask stupid question cause i dont read all the post etc
also i tried ps1 games in my ps3 this weekend i thought i was in etc as it loaded went on to the game etc as the game starts its jams up, god i was gutted.

It does play PS2 games, but not all of them. i was on a site weeks ago, cant remember what one, where it lists all the PS1 games and how well they play on the PS3, if at all.

I made a typo earlier when I said it played PS2 games, I meant to say PS1

I have a 40GB one and it plays PS1 games although the quality doesnt seem as goos, or maybe its just that the ps3 is so advanced that i notice more.

I know its tab's thread but at least this will ensure more people see it, lol.

I was just about to restart getting referrals for my nextgen account, and noticed the 80GB PS3. Thought it was a typo till I came on here. Is this getting shipped in from the US? Didn't know it was available in Europe.
