Support system not helpful

Hi Guys,

I have posted a support ticket and have been bouncing emails back and forth between support and it is becoming apparent that they either don't read the emails or that they have absolutely no idea what I am on about.

Here is my situation.

On my referrals page I have something like this.

Ref A.............Completed (green)
Ref B.............Completed (green)
Ref C.............Pending (yellow)
Ref D.............Pending (yellow)
Ref E.............Pending (yellow)
Ref F.............offer not completed (red)

Ok, Refs C,D and E registered back in June. They log into their accounts and it says that they have completed their offers. This happened about 2 weeks after they signed up to the offers. Great, I think I am going to have more completed referrals.....but no......it still stays at pending even though the site has been credited from film four.

I tell the support people but they keep sending me emails about how the user might not have completed the offer. But my argument is that they must have completed the offer in order to issue Refs C,D and E with the credit; So why is it not showing on my account! The support tell me that I can't do anything about it and it needs to be Refs C,D and E that contact them. My argument is now, "why should they ,they have completed their offers and it is showing on THEIR account and not mine so hence, its MY problem."

Any advice on how to get this sorted?

Regards,

John.

Re: Support system not helpful

have you posted a similar question on another forum showing what the support tickets say or is it a coincidence?

Cant really answer your question but an account will go "pending" once they sign up to lovefilm, not when they get their 1st dvd. It "could" be pending still because they havent completed the offer correctly yet. Possibly they havent put enough dvds in their list? who knows?

do you know the people that signed up?

They are still Pending I think; when ur offer is pending and you log in your account it goes to the offer page where it says that you have completed your offer - even though on your status page it is still Pending.

Re: Support system not helpful

Hi,

never posted this question on another forum so pure coincidence. Out of curiosity though, did the other guy get his problem solved?

I'm starting to get well hacked off with it. One of my referrals, Ref B signed up 2 weeks ago and then went on holiday. He never added any dvds to his list or even signed into his account yet he was marked as complete on my account. The other guys have been signed up since june and have had several DVDs but yet are still pending.

I do know them as I work with them - its just a pain having to get them all to send support tickets in when it should be easy for the support to check my account and see my referrals accounts. Its like they are making it particularly hard to actually complete and get the goods!

Re: Support system not helpful

I reckon that they just didn't understand what u were on about as the offers were still pending & hadn't gone to completed as u thought (explained in my previous post.) As for Lovefilm, yes, they are taking ages to go green at the moment, apparently it's about 30 days now (on other networks) for them to go through. This is not Giveaway's fault but the advertisers who are running slower than normal.

when I did the LOVEFiLM offer for consoles.RI, it took a month and a half.
I was nearing the end of my first month paid subscription before it credited. So best to be patient

and are your referrers still paying monthly for the subscription? or did they just cancel their 2-week free trial?

Re: Support system not helpful

Hi,

they signed up to LoveFILM PAYG so no need to cancel etc. I guess i need to be a little more patient. Just thought it odd that one guy took 2 weeks and he didn't even complete the offer correctly and the other guys did and they are not through after a month.

Thanks,

John.

No idea, don't know any of them!

EDIT: @incubus, if you know he didn't complete the offer correctly don't count on him staying green!

I don't think it will be an issue - the offer was to sign up, buy some credit and then rent some dvds. He signed up and bought some credit but didn't rent any DVDs. Don't think LoveFILM care now as they have their money from him. If he doesn't use the credit he loses it in a few months and hence bonus for LoveFilm.

Why do people do this?

If you do a gambling offer you wouldnt dream of just depositing the money and not playing with any of it so why give lovefilm money and not get some rentals.

It's a bit like walking into blockbuster and handing a tenner over to the cashier and saying "just keep the money, i don't want a film"....you wouldnt do it in real life so why do it on the internet?

As Sephora has mentioned, your referrals are indeed still pending. When they log in on the offers page it says that they have completed an offer successfully, however if they check thier "Account Status" page they will see that their offer is pending. I will change the offers page to say that your offer is pending when it is pending.

As for LOVEFiLM pendings, I have no idea what they are playing at. They seem to have removed the auto approve in 14 days, and now just leave them in pending indefinitely. It's extremely frustrating.

It certainly is, but sadly they underpin the whole "freebie scene" so I guess we have to live with it.

Ah, thank you. This makes sense now. I understand now why the people I referred have to start a support ticket. Its not good that its been over a month since they joined and completed the offer and its not showing but at least we know what is going on now.

Cheers,

John.

This 28 days carry on is going to be a real pain nearer Xmas time for you lot with many pendings, lets hope that it changes back to 14 days.
