Not quite sure how you would be "offering an iphone under false pretences"? You need to take out a contract with the current iPhone.... There is no PAYG now, yet no one has asked me to add the fact that you need a contract to the site in the whole time the iPhone site has been running. Not exactly sure what has changed to be honest. Obviously I realise that you can modify the iPhone to work with payg sims and other networks, but that is not exactly a standard feature and the majority of users will not know this. For all we know that might still be possible with the 3g model, so as far as I can see nothing has changed....

If it does turn out that you can not physically leave the shop with out signing a contract (I really doubt this as it cuts out a very large portion of the iPhone buying population, for example business buyers and even those people just wanting to buy the iPhone as a present for someone), then I wll be offering a paypal or voucher alternative just like every other network.

I really don't understand why you think people should not use iPhone.Giveaway, they are gonna get exactly what they sign up for, either the iPhone or a cash equivalent?

I can see where you are coming from Harvez but your own site is promoting a "free iphone 2 3G unlocked no contract"

(Before you say it, yeah, I know that mine still does on search results but the code/content has been changed, just waiting for the Google bot to stop on by!)

Re: New iPhone added...

under false pretences is perhaps the wrong wording. what i mean is that with the iphone 3g being only signup in shop only atm, where as before u could walk away and sign up at home, not advising people not to use giveaway as to will be continuing my iphone.giveaway once i have reached my target with FJ.

Re: New iPhone added...

Tab, if I was to sign up now to try and go for an iPhone, but say had less than 5 referrals and you found out that you had to increase them a bit, what would happen? Would I be able to get the few needed to make 5, or have to get more?

Re: New iPhone added...

ok where can you get your iphone 3g unlocked??? and what do you mean by that? the pay as you go models r the same as the contract models aren't they???? so wouldn't it be easier to get the contract model for less refs and then unlock it??

Re: New iPhone added...

yes it would be easier to get the contract one and unlock it because it's less refs

you can download programs off the net that let you unlock your iphone in minutes, wait until it's out and you'll be able to find out more info on it

Re: New iPhone added...

Any chance we can use a custom order on our nextgen accounts to get these?

I have all the nextgen consoles and have already completed my offer on NextGen. I hope so, as I can unlock these and I have been asking the missus to get me one since my birthday last August!

Would they deserve some iTunes vouchers to make up for it? Or maybe not if they get the phone anyway?

So, there you have it, I've proved that asking the question is easier than finding a solution!

Part of the reason I asked is that one of my mates from work is in this situation. He reckons he had all his referrals before the rates changed but quite a few were LOVEFiLM pendings and he couldn't verifiy until Sunday just gone.

He aparently verified with 16 greens but only needs 7 but in response to his support ticket, he was told that GA can change products/referrals as they see fit - that is fine and he will be happy if he gets a new 16gb iPhone but what if those are not available. It would be harsh to get £140 in vouchers when the referrals for the original 16gb phone would have got him £329.

As I said, the key point as I see it is that he says he got the referrals before the rates changed.

What is the official line Tab?

Exactly the same position, I've had 16 referrals for months but only just verified.

Waiting for the word from Apple before laying down plans on this. People who got the old amount of greens will not go without compensation don't worry...
