Hey Tab, you never specified what exactly is the cheapest iphone tariff from o2? Is it the £30 a month one?

I was just wondering, as my usage is fairly high and at the moment I have unlimited mins texts data and vid mins, but I suppose that I could just get the phone, unlock it, put my normal sim in, cancel it after 9 months, and keep the rest of the money sent from giveaway. If the tariff is suitable for me then I could just cancel my current contract and save myself a bundle anyway.

Thanks

Hmmm... I wonder if theyd let me keep the iphone if I signed up to an 18 month contract and then cancelled it paying the cancellation fee

Who in support? I will be looking at all iPhone tickets today so will probably come across yours, maybe it was just a typo?

If I have 10 refs on iphone giveaway, can I just order a ps3 40gb instead? Or do I have to move the refs to nextgen giveaway and do it from there??
It doesnt really make a difference, what would happen ?

You can't order a 40GB PS3 on iPhone.Giveaway as that is not an item on there. You will need to move the greens to your Nextgen account and order it from there.

Re: New iPhone added...

OK Tab, this is the last question, well two...

I am going to try and go for the 16gb with 18 month contract, can I just have the full amount as a cheque/bank transfer?

And if you do introduce the payg iphone will the offer stated above remain on the site? because at the rate I'm going it could take a few months

Thankss

No, you can't get them new anywhere now. You could ask for the cash for a 3g and get an old one off eBay.

Re: New iPhone added...

No, its mentioned in the thread a number of times that you will receive a voucher enabling you to purchase a iphone for free, when you take out a contract with O2 (and if you earn more greens you receive a check to cover the full cost of the line rental to). However if you don't want this Tab is offering a few alternatives.

The reason iPhones cant be sent out is Apple and O2 have an agreement were you can only purchase iPhones from O2 shops, and the Carphone Warehouse.

Re: New iPhone added...

Wow 9000 posts jon!

Back on topic. I am a little disappointed, I had envisaged getting an iPhone sent out to me after getting my 5 referrals, then either getting a contract or getting the phone unlocked so I could put my current sim in.

I did however think I would have the choice.

I have signed up to giveaway and have 4/5 referrals now, but i kinda feel a bit mislead - and in turn I feel I have mislead those that have signed up for me. As I told them, you could get an iPhone for 5 referrals. This is not a good thing because some of those people are my friends and they'll be annoyed at me and think this whole thing is a scam again!

When I signed up to iPhone Giveaway there was no obvious mention that you would require a contract to actually get the iphone on the website. Now however it says the 5 referrals is for an 8gb iphone with a contract only!

When I saw you could get an iPhone for 5 referrals, I, like many others, rushed to sign up, thinking it was deal of the decade! I knew it seemed impossible to get an iphone for 5 referrals, but as I trusted the Giveaway network as an exceem supported network, I assumed everything would be ok.

If you go to Carphone Warehouse now, you have to pay £99 for a 8GB iPhone plus get an 18 month contract on top of that. So the 5 referrals is only worth £99. I know this is fairly standard, but it's not the deal I thought I was signing up to.

Plus I hate 18 month contracts. Plus I am in a contract til next May as it is.

Once again, if it seems to good to be true, it generally is.
