Why don't GiveAway offer Voucher's?

This is a discussion on Why don't GiveAway offer Voucher's? within the GiveAway Network forums, part of the Old Networks category; I know they send out vouchers if an item is out of stock. But why can't you request vouchers instead ...

But why can't you request vouchers instead of say an XBOX 360? on 360GiveAway?

Is there any logic behind this or is it simply "Because the dont".??

Business models! I think they order their gifts from a large distributor and order them in bulk in order to decrease the equivalent unit price. This means they get an Xbox, for example, for less than the equivalent amazon voucher price.

If you requested the amazon alternative equal to the price they pay per unit you would probably get a lot less than you expect.

I think it might also impact on how they order stuff - they wouldn't know whethere someone was going to go for the gift or amazon voucher and they may end up with excess stock, which would be a problem.
