Re: Account on Hold ?

ha, the giveaway stole a wii from me too. I got all 9 legitimate refs, and when I verified they put my account on hold for having 2 duplicate accounts! They are both my accounts, but the first one I registered a while before the second one. The reason I had made another one was that I had forgotten the email/password I had used to make the first one... as I always check my usual email/pass combo on a new freebie site im about to sign up to, to make sure I haven't signed up already. It's hard to believe they conned me for something as stupid as that. ><

I had the same with Kudos and Lee was very good about it, it was obviously a genuine mistake on my behalf but he listened to what I had to say and sorted it me out.

Re: Account on Hold ?

It does seem that accounts can get put on hold for very minor offences (often not deliberate).

I think the most unfair thing about account being put on hold is the fact that the person involved often doesn't find out his/her account has been put on hold until they are ready to cash in there refferals for there chosen gift.

So if it is then an honest mistake it is probably a bit late to get the decision reversed.

Of course some freebie networks are understanding in certain cases and accept that the mistake is an honest one.

Yep, i've sent support tickets into the giveaway networks site several times offering them solid proof that it wasn't deliberate and they won't even consider it. And yes, it's most unfair when you've just spent months of your time, advertising for referrals, for them to tell you that you're not getting your Wii, or anything for that matter.

Perhaps they could prevent users from registering with the same addresses/names... that would sort everything! Set up their database so that no duplicate date ie. Addresses

But no, their earning too much money from peoples mistakes!!!!!

The ticket is still open and is awaiting your, sorry your friends, reply. Ticket was last updated by Lisa on the 8th. If you could reply with what she asked, and also include a link to that ebay account / item, then we can continue to investigate for you / your friend. I am assuming your friend lives on the same street as you? To be honest I am not sure as reading back over your posts in this thread is a little confusing.

Only around verification time..... As we verify every 2 weeks there are quite a few people waiting, and the next day there are inevitably going to be some posts from those that have been put on hold. Of course you don't see the posts from the other hundred or so people who verified successfully and are not members of exceem.

Again just because of the time of month...

Its hard for me to see how we "conned" you. We place people on hold for breaching our T&C's, which you did. Nothing underhand there, just the rules of the site. I am unable to find any account for you on any of our sites giving away a Wii, or any support tickets. If you could PM those details I will take a look for you and see what happened..

There is no minor offences when we verify and find multiple accounts that do not appear accidental. There is no way for us to know when verifying an account whether the person has some amazing storey behind the multiple accounts, or if he was just trying to cheat the system.

Also I have mentioned this many times before, but verifying once a member has gained the required referrals is the only possible time to do it. Every other network on exceem, and those that aren't, do it the exact same way.

Re: Account on Hold ?

Just wondering after reading this thread about a few things, sorry if ive missed it in all these cryptic posts but everything seems very fishy to say the least but i do hope your mate gets the item and im sure if theres no wrongdoing on his part then giveaway will provide the goods!

So this guy is from the same street as your friend, and he used the same address as your mate who coincidentally referred him?

Secondly did he use the same name as ur mate, or did he use his own name?

Finally did he complete an offer or was he just a yellow? It would probably help his cause a bit if this random referral was yellow.

P.S. how does he advertise? Stick posters on trees up his street? :P

Yeah thats a fair point ....

We here all the stories on here but normally its after the person in question's account has been put on hold....

So therefor we here an angry and probably slightly tainted version of things (making the giveaway site out to be con men and bad people).

I guess what we dont see, is that all the giveaway site has is the facts in front of them, and has to act on them.

It is good however to here that genuine mistakes are not neccissarily going to be punished heavily, and these sites will be sympathetic to people who have just made an honest mstake.

oh btw ....

No complaints from me Tab .... I was more than happy with the service i recieved when i got my free ps3 with GTA 4

Is that strictly true? If I was to enter my email address in the sign upbox it will tell me I am already registered therefore can a house number and postcode not be verified at the account creation time? It's not water tight but it would surely catch a lot of accidental (and otherwise) duplicates.

I personally think this would stop a lot of hassle on both sides.. you can possibly all tell that my 1st ever verfication threw up a duplicate account and I still cant for the life of me work out how it happened.

Re: Account on Hold ?

hi guys..
i recently completed my freebie jeebie account and had 3 greens and it said verifying etc. it has just come back saying account on hold for breach of contract.
anyway i got to the bottom of it and what happend is that i got my brother to do an offer for me but he never got round to doing it properly and got confussed..
couple weeks later he asked me to do another one so i set up an account for him using a diff email and diff comp (IP) but forgot to change address.
so it kinda work out that i was breaching the one account per house hold rule

is there anyway i can fix all this as it truely was a mistake and i wasnt trying to con the site?
