Help Needed...account void

Hi,

I recently completed the offer for a PS3 on giveaway. I got 11/10 referrals. When it came to verifying, my account got put on hold. Furthermore the problem was with the referral my sister did for me at uni. To begin with I couldnt see why there was a problem, untill I realised my sister used our home address (being the same as the address I signed up with). I never said anything because I though she would use her uni address. Anyway even though the IP addresses are different my account is now void

This is completly devastating to me as I spent money for G4G and also as it being my first freebie. And the fact that im being accused as fraud.

Is there anything I can do to save my account? or anything I can to to resolve the situation? Can they not see that the IP addresses are different?

I would suggest raising a support ticket explaining the situation and your account will be reviewed. Then maybe if you are lucky they may sort something out.

rather than rant on here, what I would suggest is raising a support ticket to Tab (address it to him) explaining the situation clearly, and maybe ask your sister to do the same... there should be a log of the ip addresses, one problem might be if you both completed the same offer in which case I doubt Giveaway will get paid for either, Tab is usually fair in situations like this so rather than allow yourself to dig yourself a big hole for yourself like most others in this situation do I suggest you do as I say above sooner rather than later.

You keep your referrals, but they're no use to you unless you're taken off hold.

They told me my account void. So they will eventually take it off void?

if you are on hold , then it is unlikely you will be taken off hold.
find a new site and start again

I knew it was too good to be true. I havent even done anything wrong. There accusing me of fraud, yet they've just scammed me out off 11 hard earned referrals...ridiculus.

but there is 2 accounts at the same adress regardless of weather it was intentional or not is against the terms and conditions , by all means plead your case in a support ticket but from my experience i would say to move on and try another site .. good luck in whichever you do

The problem is that my sister did it at her house in nottingham, but wrote her home address where she used to live. Couldnt it be proved by a difference in IP addresses, that in fact it was done at different households? how much of a case do you think I have?

only giveaway can answer , like i say present all the evidence you have in a support ticket and see what happens

i think if one of your referrals have created two accounts then you just lose that one referral.
but if its happened on your account then they just basically scrap the lot.
lets hope im wrong.

I had a similar situation but it was on freepay not giveaway. My sister's boyfriend signed up in my house not knowing he couldn't. I emailed freepay appologising, and they just canceled his account and it didn't affect me (other than having to get an extra green). The main difference tho is that I let them know as soon as I found out it happened. I think if i'd waited til verification it'd have looked a tad shifty and I too would have been put on hold.

They've cancelled my account. They seem to make things up as they go along. Apparently a Uni house is not allowed to be used now. Even though its not rented, but owned. And the fact that the IPs are different, doesnt seem to matter anymore, because at the end of the day I feel like Ive been scammed and its they who are commiting the "fraudulent" behaviour and not me.

if the house is owned why on earth did she put her old address in???

Hi Chris,

You account was placed on hold as there were two accounts with the same shipping address, this is not allowed and all accounts found to have the same shipping address are placed on hold. I am sure you can understand that we are unable to tell at the time of verification that your sister signed up and put in her old address, and that she actually owns a house and lives somewhere completely different. You mention that she has a different IP address, but all this shows is that she signed up from a different PC than you, it in no way proves where she lives.

I have replied to your ticket, please take a look and let me know (via the ticket) if the solution is acceptable.
