Hi all,

We have just updated the T&C's on our sites, I would recommend everyone have read.

Some of the more important changes include in brief:

• There is now an age restriction of 18.
• The area relating to why accounts may be placed on hold is now more defined
• Automatic URL forwarding / URL Masking / Framing of our sites is now prohibited.
• Advertising the cancellation of offers, or any encouragement or direction to cancel offers is now prohibited.
• Walkthroughs / signups on behalf of others / Using other peoples info are now clearly prohibited.

There a many changes in this update, so again I would recommend taking the time to read through the T&C's to make sure you are not currently in breach.

just a question. what would happen to the peoples accounts who are currently under 18?

There may not be more than one account per household per Giveaway web site. A household includes your mailing address, and may include your IP address. Be advised that joining a Giveaway web site from a shared internet connection such as those available at schools, places of business or public facilities may result in you having the same IP address as another member and can be considered creating a duplicate account which may, at our sole discretion, result in disqualification of your account. You are strongly advised to use your own personal Internet connection when joining our web sites

Doesnt this also automatically exclude a lot of aol,ntl users etc where an ip address is shared by a large number of households?

And yes I know it says MAY!

It is obvious when a user is trying to scam compared to a user using a isp that uses proxy

Looks like it means that you will now have to use your full ref link if you want to refer anyone and I’m guessing that this will upset quite a few exceemers.

URL forwarding is where you can send a person to a website for example www. abc123*** .co.uk which would then automatically forward the person to any other website you want but in this case your ref link.

So someone thinks they are visitng the abc123 site but are in fact visiting www. giveaway**** .co.uk/ref123 for example

This is done mainly because if someone sees the full ref link they tend to think it's a scam - however from Tab's point of view if everything is out in the open and transparent then no one can say they didn't know what the were signing up to etc and will not sign up to a site without knowing they are giving someone a refferal.

you mean like a Re-direct URL ? you type in say somethinh.co.nr and it takes u too the front page of the giveaway site

or an actual website like we all have, where u go to the site www.sssss.co.uk then they read the information on how it works and stiff then they click on a image and it takes u to the Giveaway site?

You should be fine with the website that has links on.

I would like to know if my account is just going to be discarded :S.

But yes i would like to know what happens if you already signed up/completed offers before these T&Cs came into effect.

on the cPanel, you can see where people are being directed from, so Tab will be able to check the links to see if they're re-directable URL's instead of following from a ref link, if you get me?

i know i can on my cPanel anyway....

Tab, If you happen to read this I'd be grateful for an answer.

I sometimes use tinyurl to forward people to my ref link, but I always use the preview option, so although people type in or click on a tinyurl link, they see where they are being redirected to (the full url) and get the option to proceed or not.
Do shortened urls count as redirect urls?
I can't remember my ref links but I can remember my tinyurl link!!

I will stop using the tinyurl links until I get a definate answer, but there are probably still some out there that people may click on, that is beyond my control!
