| Mini Mac | Re: ref link problemsI'm not tab, however I think I could try and answer your questions it's a no; for the transferring the account - someone else asked that before and I remember Tab saying no. I'm not sure about the second one, but I guess it's a no as well.

![]() | Re: ref link problemsHaving this issue as well. Just had a friend sign up using my referral ID, and it's not showing in my account. Between this and people going green and not getting credit, I'm starting to lose faith. |

![]() | Re: ref link problemsTabs response on that thread doesn't seem appropriate in the light of this issue happening to multiple people, and coupled with the other issue some of us have experienced regarding people going green but still showing as yellow. The 360 site definitely had some issues last week, several times I tried to login but found the site down, perhaps this is related? |

![]() | Re: ref link problemsHey, There is no issue with any of our sites. I have tested each site thoroughly and found them all to working fine. Also im not having a go at anyone, but it doesn't help when people do not explain the problem properly and just jump on the band wagon saying "ooooo me to...." With regards to peoples referrals saying their account says they have completed an offer, but it is not green on your account. There is absolutely no way this can happen. The site uses a relational database, and if an account is green, its green. People who are not very familiar with how referral sites work tend to get confused and state things that aren't true. For example just the other days someone posted in here saying one of their referrals had confirmed their account says they have completed an offer, but it wasn't showing as green on the referees account. Then the next day they came back and said sorry they asked again and apparently it doesn't say they have completed an offer, they were just confused. Again im not being rude or calling people stupid, its just easy for people to say what others want to hear. If one of your friends or family have signed up just to help you out, and have no real interest in going further with the site. Then they may well tell you want you want to hear when you keep asking them. Its just human nature. Also not everyone is as computer/internet savvy as others, they may well receive your referral link in an email, take a look and leave, then go back later by going directly to the site rather than using the referral link. They may well think that they have signed up just like you asked and that all is well, but obviously it isn't. Like I have said before you cannot guarantee what people will do when you send them your referral link. Also the slightest mistake with the link and it will not work properly, one digit missing off the end, extra slash at the end, extra slash anywhere in the link, any extra characters at the end etc... and it won't work... That coupled with the reasons given in my other post which has been linked to above, means occasionally the referral link may get lost. Its not an epidemic. I have thousands of users signing up daily, with referral link in tact. The few instances mentioned here are less than 1% of users signing up, and unfortunately there really is nothing I can do for that -1%..... Tab Last edited by Tab; 29-01-07 at 09:09 AM.. |

| Mini Mac | Re: ref link problemsAlso, let's be fair, some people delete the number at the end of the referral link, because they don't like the fact of signing up for someone else.

![]() | Re: ref link problemsHey, That was me who said my friend had gone green and wasn't showing. It was my friends mistake, I went to his place and checked it out for him, and the offer indeed wasn't showing in his account either. I made a corrective post immediately. Definitely no problem with his sign up, we sat down and watched the lovefilm DVD's after I'd checked his account. He's still yellow, though. It's not 10 business days until Thursday, and support said to open a new ticket after that amount of time. The other friend of mine who signed up at the same time as the one mentioned above is also still yellow, though as mentioned, she will not open a support ticket, as she thinks it's a scam. Is there any way you can confirm her offer is complete without her providing a screenshot or opening a ticket? EDIT: Forgot to add, I'm willing to let go the missed referral I posted about previously. Although I'm sure he followed my link (have the Apache logs to prove it) and I know he signed up (have the forwarded welcome email to prove that) I don't know for sure that he didn't clear his cookies, then sign up again later. Slim chance... But not impossible. C'est la vie. Last edited by Vincepbell; 29-01-07 at 09:21 AM.. |
