Referrals being placed on hold.

Hey again....

First off I am surprised to have to make this post, especially on this forum where the business model of freebie sites is so very well known.

We check user accounts and referrals at the verification stage once a user has obtained all the required referrals. This is the only reasonable time to check accounts for fraud, as checking every account when it is created would be an impossible task when thousands are being created every day.

As a network we are very lenient when it comes to placing accounts on hold - very. I saw mentioned in another thread that we place accounts on hold when we see duplicate IP addresses, this is definitely not the case. If we did that then almost every account on our site would be on hold. If you think about the size of our userbase, almost every user I have come across has a duplicate IP. We check numerous things to decide whether to place an account on hold, things which I have mentioned more than once on this forum so won't repeat.

Also unlike some other sites we do not place accounts on hold because of the actions of their referrals. When a user has 10 or more of their referrals placed on hold, we could quite reasonably place that account on hold for simply not using our site in good faith and using methods to obtain referrals which obviously attract scammers. Which in turn sheds a bad light on our network with our advertisers. However we do not do this. We simply place the bad referrals on hold and let the user obtain more referrals, we think this is VERY fair. The point of sites like mine is to refer friends, family and colleagues. If you chose to refer hundreds of complete strangers who you have no guarantee of what they are gonna do, then please don't be surprised when a few go on hold for fraudulent behaviour.

Regarding Trevors comment about placing the referrals on hold but allowing it to still count as a green for the referrer just defeats the object of referral incetive sites. Every freebie site/network works the same as us in regard to referrals going on hold, and has done since the inception of the referral website. The way our sites work is very clear, and the business model is well understood. We would not be able to sustain our business if we were to do this.

We think our sites are very fair, easy to complete with low referral rates and easy well-known offers. We do listen to suggestions, and are willing to implement any changes that will help both our users and our network. We have been in this business since its beginning and plan on being here for a very long time to come.

as i said in the subject header i spat my dummy out.


i must have been verry lucky up untill now as fortunately for me i have never experiance any of my referals go on hold until i signed up to the giveaway network.

i am still working to get that extra green needed and hope to complete the site.

It's a query for my brother who has'nt got an account on here!
I introduced him to Giveaway but, now after getting 16 greens on 360.....his account has 'disappeared' !!!
He cannot login and when he tries to reset his pwd, it says that his email address is not registered?????
He has contacted giveaway but, has not had a response!
He has also had one ref go on hold but, now has 16 greens?
Very strange that the account ' no longer exists' !!!

Maybe they are experiencing some difficulties - not sure!
