| iBook | Returning a freebieMerry xmas you lot. Maybe a bit of an odd one, has anyone ever returned a freebie to the store it was bought from? In August I got an Avent Vega, i've been very happy with it, I tried turning it on the other day and the screen lights up and nothing happens at all. I followed their help on their site and reflashed the firmware, it turned on, then on the second boot it just went back to the screen coming on and nothing else. I don't really have the time to reinstall the firmware everytime i want to use it :P So how do I go about changing it? Being Advent, it is obviously from PC World/Dixons however I don't have a receipt, owing to the fact that it is manufactured only for these stores do you think they are a bit more lenient in exchanging? is there any info i.e serial number which will allow them to change it? Or do I need to do it all through the freebie site I got it from? |

| Romper Stomper | I had to return a mobile once. Firstly I contacted Richard (FJ) and asked for a copy of the invoice which he sent me immediately, no questions and no hassle. Then I contacted Amazon and they agreed to replace the unit immediately through their own returns policy. A courier was at my house the day after to pick up the old one and the new unit landed about a week after that. Find out about PCWorld returns policy and start the ball rolling. As long as it's still in warranty then they will either have to repair or replace.

| What to put... | Can't you try giving them a call and see what they say? Suggest you got it for christmas and the receipt wasn't given to you and see what their reply is.

| Currently: Moderating! | Unfortunately I've had to return a couple; most annoyingly/recently a HiFi that I'm still having trouble with (the sellers lack of cooperation rather than anything to do with Kudos) Just make sure you get the sellers details and you should be able to return the item no problem (via the freebie site if necessary)

![]() | Website purchases can be returned in store so long as it's in warranty just pop in with a receipt and they should sort it.
