Hi,

Basically, i made my site a while ago (roughly a year) and did nothing but leave it, it entered google and hasn't moved since, its stuck on page 10 for the term 'freebiejeebies'.

I was wondering how hard it would be to get to page one for 'freebiejeebies'?

Since i have done no seo and am on page 10, i thought that wasn't a disaster

So, what steps do i need to take to reach that prize no. 1 spot?

By the way, i'm not one of these idiots thinking there is a quick fix, and i can be there tomorrow, i am willing to do the work, in order to reach the reward of greens

Well it is a pretty competitive keyword, so you'll have to put some extra effort in to rank for that one.

Not As Competitive for Free Iphone However

I image most people who rank high on 'free iphone' have other jobs though, so how on earth do they manage to maintain there SEO to keep themselves at the top?

Getting there is hard enough but it doesn't get any easier. I had top dibs on "free iPhone" for a couple of years but can't get it back now. A funny old game.

Also, does anyone actually pay for their SEO? Like outsource it from companies ?

A lot of people outsource, and if you buy it from the right people, it works very well.

I don't think anybody will give you a list lol, nobody really remembers.

The price varies for what you want to get, higher quality links cost much more than lower quality ones (eg Xrumer).

Don't forget that it's not a one time - one hit thing.
If you are going to outsource then you have to keep it up.
A one time blast with xrumer may see you gain one or 2 places but you will lose them just as fast.

Well, surely people who reach no. 1 and 2 for high terms such as free iPhone don't do all work themselves, I was wondering , from people who are at the top, how you achieved it? Through outsourcing, or Doing it yourself? If so how many hours a week on SEO was required?

I do all my own and have done for the last 12mths, with the very odd exception.
Yes it's hardwork, but the rewards outweigh the work.

Used outsourcing and unless you can find very good monkeys (my nickname for outsource workers) then it's a waste of time & money.

Good solid hardwork in all the right places with the right mixture of content gets you there. A great looking website might also help which im lacking atm.

BTW, my post about xrumer was to hi-lite the fact that it's pretty useless unless you are going to go into major spammage and keep on hammering it.

Outsourcing good work for good results is expensive and still never ending.
Better off learning how to do it yourself.
You learn from mistakes, and there are plenty to be made !

If you can find some good outsourcing services you can mix them in with your own work but most of them aren't worth the money. Best getting some SEO tools and doing the work yourself. All the guys who are making good money online have their own tools and their own backlinking methods and work hard everyday!

Yea it does take a lot of time and effort. A good mixture of both can help. Personally I'm still trying to learn how to do SEO, though know I'll never fully understand it. Still, got to #1 in a year so must have done something right along the way.
