Even science shows that different activities put you in different musical moods. So if you're relaxing then you may want to listen to acoustic while if you're angry you may want to listen to hard rock.

But if you don't like acoustic then why would you want to listen to it whilst relaxing?

Some people find hard rock (Myself not included) Relaxing because that is what they like.

Obviously but it's not a question of what music you like, its a question of what helps you do this.

EG, I like System of a Down but i find them to distracting when I'm concentrating.

Regardless, there is no 'magic music' that is good for achieving tasks. Some people might listen to rap while coding their website and enjoy it, whereas others might find it too distracting, or might just not like it at all.

This thread is basically asking for people's music preferences, and as it's all down to opinion, there's no right or wrong type of music to listen to, just listen to whatever you feel like.

I usually listen to no music. If I listen to music it's music I like then I don't code or do anything as I sing along and play my air instruments.
