About pressenting offers on websites

"Don't talk about cancelling offers"

I know thats not a thing you should say, but it is okey if we inform people that they dont "need" to use the offers more then 30 days.

Im trying to be as honest as I can on my website, and I noticed when I myself signed up by some random persons referral link I was not told anything about the offers really, more then do 1 its a free trial.

But what was not included was the extended information that if I didnt wanna use it after 30 days. I have to look at the website myself to cancel the auto subscription that comes after 30 day.
(did not look at all like the offer site was gonna email me and ask me if i wanted to continue with their service more (pay a small fee) with possibly a confirm link in email.

Witch I found very bad, since I entrust my visa cards information to the offer site, so they should inform me they will take money automatically after 30 days a bit clearly and not just start taking money from my account without warning and then maybe send a email saying "thanks for your payment".

Is this a common feature on the offer sites? That they treat their customers that way.
To me it looks slight not okey, but totally understandable since they are trying to get potentional customers, but is that not taking it a bit to far?
As far as honesty is concerned.

Thats my only personal negative experience with the whole freebie thing, to little information about the offers. And seeing the offer is in my mind the most important part of this, since who wanna sign up with a visa card on a site knowing nothing about what they are signing up for really and what comes with it.

Thought It could be a interesting topic to talk about, maybe share a few ideas on how to inform people in a infromative way but still attract customers to continue the offers, seeing that some of them are not bad deal at all really, depending on personal interests.

Hope this could be a interesting topic.

For the cancelling offers bit, just say that they have the option to become a paid member or not and don't do a tutorial on how to cancel offers!

"don't do a tutorial on how to cancel offers!"

That was not the point at all as I already stated in the first post tha's not the meaning of this post.
If that was the case, I could not ask people how to tip-toe around it but still provide enough information.

Anyways I came up with this so far:

"Is the Free Trial realy free?
Yes the 30 days trial is 100% free during the 30 days as they promise.

You have no obligations to continue using paid services after your free trial period is up if you don't wish to."

That is planed on the front page.

In another part on the site where i will repeat this information. (re-worded to not look identical)
I will type slight more it's planed but not "go cancel", that's wrong of me.
But not being honest providing decent information will make me look bad, and I personally care about my reputation as well care for the offer sites best interests.

I'll brainstorm something good probably by tomorrow, hope someone in here has good suggestions.

That sounds fine. I did the "don't do a tutorial on how to cancel offers!" bit for other people who are viewing this.

The reason this is a difficult subject (also for others reading), is that while shouting out about offer cancelation might seem like a way for you to get more referrals, it decreases the conversion rate for the companies with the offer. If they don't get a decent conversion rate, then they will simply no longer affiliate with the incentive websites. And if the incentive websites had no free trial offers, your referrals would suffer a lot more than they would if you simply didn't talk about cancelation in the first place!

I know it sounds like it, but its realy 50/50 question about
How to be honest but still not makeing customers joining and then just cancel offers.
but as williamblah say "this is a difficult subject".
Thats why i chosen to try find a nice solution for it rather them misguide friends.

Solution:

1. Don't say "You need only to do 1 offer"
say "Choose your offer"

2. saying "you can change chosen offer at any time if your not satisfied"
- Tells users they can change service if they are not satisfied with the current one and they will learn themselves how to cancel without pointing them towards that direction straight away.
but also gives another company the availability to earn a potentional customer who will use their service.

And also"You have no obligations to continue using paid services after your free trial period is up if you don't wish to."
- Informs the users they do not need to pay, but at the same time does not creates a "how to cancel" guide.

That should do it for the website as far as im concerned.
I'll create Email templates later once Im at that point.

I look forward to the email templates.

"you can change chosen offer at any time if your not satisfied"

This may put their account on hold, I'm not 100% sure, but if you don't fully complete an offer then your account will be put on hold.

It won't be put on hold, your offer will just be revoked... but as long as you complete another one you'll be fine.
