That said, I think that would probably blow the whole "Lowest unique bid" model apart...

there are 'methods' but you need to have the money first to be able to do it, and even then the savings are not that great.

there have been many debates about certain people winning almost every auction... these seem to have died off now.

I think that I might know the kind of method that ye are talking about there, as I've initially considered having a pop at it myself. That was before I did the math and found out just how much it'd cost, though...

Presumably, they are users with a fair amount of cash to invest who can effectively "block" other everyday users from competing fairly?

I've seen a certain "penny bid" site offering auctions that are available to new members (Those with less than 1-5 wins) only, which gives newbies a much more level playing field. Maybe LBT should consider the same approach for certain auctions?
