i think the answer is no unfortunately. their is a few free hosting sites such as 000webhost. but you will still need to buy a domain name. although you can get one for around £5 so not a huge cost involved.

What confuses me is that you get loads of posts and comments from members wanting to get to the top of google and get loads of greens but why do so many people insist that they want a free domain and free hosting?

I dont really know many top freebie sites that havent paid for their hosting as I've read that google penalises free hosting.

Isnt it worth the few quid a month? You could always do one of the hosting offers if FJ/Kudos have them.

Google does penalise free hosting due to the fact it can see the ip address of the site and where it is hosted, the site will be crowd hosted along with 10's of thousands of other sites, most spam/useless or similar sites and Google doesn't like that!

Not only that, the page load times will be longer meaning more penalty points for your site.

Hosting is the same as anything else in this world, you get what you pay for!

Does that apply to sites such as 000webhost? Whilst I can't speak for the results in Google, I've noticed no difference in the quality of their hosting compared to paid services I've used in the past.
