Email spam if email from FJ?

Quick question about spam emails.

I was about to put together an email (either plain text or HTML) and send to my non completed referrals when I thought about the spamming issue. As they've not opted in to receive any emails from me would I be spamming them if I got their emails from my FJ status page?

I think pretty much everyone emails there "reds" once. I tend to put a note saying "If you do not wish to receive any emails from myself then please reply saying so. I will only very very rarely send you an email."

They tend not to reply so I don't bother about it as I put the sentence in. I'll only ever send 1 email to get people to sign up, but I may accidently send it to someone twice if they're next to each other on the reds list!

So do you think then that because they can see their own referals with their respective email addresses they won't really mind?
If I hadn't gone green I wouldn't mind someone emailing me.
Good call about the "Unsubscribe" drill at the bottom.

Not sure what you mean??

If your worried about people seeing each others emails then just put the email addresses in the BCC line as that's a "blind carbon copy" and people can't see who else your sending to.

No sorry what I mean is:
The people on my referral list will have their own list of referrals. They will have a list of greens and reds just like I do. SO because they have that I'm assuming they'll mail their OWN reds meaning they won't mind an email from me.

God I've just re-read that back and realise I sound like a child yet I can't word it differently.

(Don't mean to sound rude or cause offence, but just to clear something up, a 'red' is someone that is on hold or has been revoked, a yellow is a signup who has not completed their offer)

lol, yea your right.

but the thing is some people will have signed, decided it was a scam and stopped. So in your email you need to be as clear and positive as possible. You need to make the people who havent done an offer go "actually I could give this a try"

good luck. There is a template on here somewhere. Or if you want I'll email you mine?!

True, I guess that's how they are referred to. BUT on FJ a red hasn't completed an offer, a purple is pending and a green is amazing! which is why I tend to say red for not completed

Right...but I thought the idea of naming email categories was so that they could be recognised universally using the traffic light type system. Meh.

yea... ... ... *woosh over the head*

I just copy and paste the email address into the BCC TO: bar, copy and paste the email and send it on!

I don't do clever stuff! I only end up sending 5 emails at a time!

No worries at all.
The only reason I say red is that there is a little red cross icon next to their email address in my user status panel on FJ.

Thanks for the advice MJ, if you could email me your template that would be great.
