is this right?

ok I'm new so go easy on me

I'm on the freebiejeebies site and I just wanted to check something.

Can other people use my laptop to sign up (as my referrals)? The reason I ask is that I have some family members who are keen to sign up but they don't have their own laptops. Is it the computer or the internet connection that matters? or neither? or both?

Sorry not sure I'm explaining myself very well. I'll try again!
So if for example I signed up on my laptop via wireless internet in my house. Could my uncle then use my laptop to sign up?
What if he used my laptop but on a different internet connection? i.e. someone else's house but using my laptop?
What if he used a different laptop but via my connection? e.g. if a friend came to stay and I persuaded them to sign up, could they access the site via their laptop on my internet connection

Would any of these result in valid referrals?

Sorry if I'm asking stupid questions but I just don't want to waste any of my referrals but doing something wrong

thanks
Nancy

you should be ok, but i imagine if all your signups used your laptop it would look a bit suspicious.

also make sure as long as they all use different cards and live at different addresses!!

Aha ok - so for example if my credit card address is the same as my partners then even if he signs up from somewhere else it won't count?
What if two of the referrals have the same address - I was thinking of friends that are flat sharing for example. Could they both sign up and be valid referrals for me?

I'm afraid not, if any users share your IP address they will not count as referrals and we operate a strict one account per household policy

they could both be valid referrals on different freebiejeebies sites, completing different offers... am not 100% sure if they could do coral and gala, as they are typically the same offer, even though the people are different.. (allthough saying that, both my sisters in laws have done both between them - OFFICIAL ANSWER PLEASE!!!)

You can only sign up once per ip and postal address. Your ip address will be the same if someone else signs up from your house, regardless of which computer they use.

However, if you used your laptop on someone elses Internet connection that would have a different ip address.

2 ppl at the same address cannot sign up.

Hope that helps

Ok sorry if this is going to sound very very stupid but is the IP address linked to the computer or the internet connection? so would two computers on the same connection have the same IP?

edited to add: I don't have a home network setup - just a wireless connection so for example me and my mum could both be use our laptops to access the site - would they have the same Ip?

Well you have an internal and an external ip address, it is the external ip address (internet) that needs to be different.

So, two computers on the same connection (wired or wireless) will have the same ip address.

Hope this helps.
