Shiny Telly
Hi - I've been working towards £500 of Amazon vouchers on Freebie Jeebies for a few months now. I'm waiting on one more green and i'm hopefully there (excluding any reversals). Anyway i'm looking to buy a new TV for my mum, has anyone seen any deals or got any advice because i've no idea where to start

for about £500 you'd be looking at a quality 32" one

my 37" of there was £650 i think - and it was one of the cheapest


edit - Are you looking for a full HD - 1080p or not

Would like to watch movies and stuff on it, so yes to HD.

I'd like 37", but I think for that budget i'm looking at 32"

for a 32" or 37" you could get bye on 720i quite easily, and to consider if you get full HD (1080i) you would need a HDTV source (freesat/sky hd, virgin media hd) and/or a blueray (or hddvd but thats a old format and only good for films from anytime up till now(but some good bargins to be had)), I stuck with a 37" at 720i and have no issues with it

plus if its for your mum, theres a chance her eyes wont notice/she wont actually care about the difference between 720 and 1080 - something to bare in mind
