Proxy servers

Howdy,
I'm going back to uni for 11 weeks at the end of the summer, but because they're annoying they have the whole uni on a massive proxy server (they call it resnet, if that actually has any relevence), I was wondering whether this would make it impossible for the freebie sites to track the offers I complete, or whether the cookies would still track me as normal.

I don't think your offers will be tracked, as most proxy servers don't enable cookies. However I am not completely certain.

this a PC in your room, or a PC in a libary/ uni PC room etc?

My understanding was that if you are in uni and on their internet you will share the same IP as everyone on that network. So to freebiejeebies it may look as if you have tried to refer yourself (if another person on that uni network signs up under you.) I think i read on here somewhere that some freebie sites are aware of uni IP's as an IP search would normally indicate it as a uni IP although i dont know how they tell its not you lol.

Even if your cookies arnt tracked the sites can manually turn you green if you provide sufficient evidence such as screenshots.

from how I read the first post, it looked like the poster was wanting to complete the sites properly, and not hide behind uni proxy's as an excuse.

Eitherway IP address is one of many anti fraud methods, and how ever hard you try, the networks will be on step ahead of you.

I have no interest in cheating the system, must have worded it badly if it came accross like that. But anyway, I'll ask FJ when it gets closed to me going back to uni. Thanks for the help
