sonyps3giveaway - how harsh are they?

Well I shall tell you, very harsh.
I am new to this and thought sonyps3giveaway sounded the best with such a low referal rate. So got a few mates to sign up and then mentioned it to my brother who signed up before I can tell him not to due to him having the same address as me. So I thought I would do the honest thing and tell their support it was a mistake and to ignore this referal, who is still yellow. They have now said h my account will be suspened and there will be no way to appeal. What aload of s**t, I have read on here of people done similar and told the network about it for them to have their account taken off hold.

you must have had time to tell your brother your referral link though for him to be on your account
each case is revewed individually some people get theres reinstated some dont - the only people that can help you are the giveaway network .
if i were you i would just move on to another site and learn from your mistakes - harsh maybe but thats all you can do if they have said you cant appeal.

i disagree. had a similar problem with multiple signups, explained it to nextgen.giveaway and the other accounts were deleted, sorting out my proper one
just use their support tickets and they should be reasonable mate

Re: sonyps3giveaway - how harsh are they?

I did send them a support ticket to tell them about it and that is when they told me that the my brothers account would put my account on hold. I new this hence me informing them about it and if there was something that could be done due to it. They told me they could deactivate his account but they would still cancel mine. Situations like yours Grinder88 lead me to believe that these things could occur but the networks would understand, as long as you tell them and they wipe that conflicting account off then that should be ok no harm done. What do you think my next move should be? I have another account with freebiejeebies I could start but I have already a number of referals to get my ps3 and I was nearly there in completing it. Friends I have asked to sign up and have, will find it hard to except what I tell them again if I did not get my ps3 first time around.

Yet I also had a similar issue, and my account was not taken off hold. So not everybody wins.

I would log a ticket, and accept whatever they say, and if you dont get anywhere, like claire said move on.

i understand what your saying everyone will be like 'told you so' and no one else will sign up

if it was a genuine mistake and you explain this it does seem very harsh that they should leave you on hold. Did you do anything with your brothers account ie complete an offer, get refs or anything?

Re: sonyps3giveaway - how harsh are they?

Thats what gets me Grinder88, all he has done is sign up. He has not completed a deal and so not signed anyone up. I explained this in my support ticket to no avail. As mentioned I have started on another network but it just grinds me after puting in the effort.

Re: sonyps3giveaway - how harsh are they?

This is what they said...

Hi Russell,

Yes I can confirm, after checking your account, that your account will be placed on hold for multiple accounts being registered from your address.

It is possible for you to appeal a held status, but if the contravention is clear, as it is in your case, there will be no reasonable grounds for appealing.

My advice is to begin again on another giveaway site, ie. nextgen.giveaway.co.uk (you cannot register again on the sonyps3 site as this would be multiple registering). As long as rules are followed, there should be no problem with completing another giveaway site.

Regards,

Grinder88 that is what I thought, my brother has gone no further and so shows no attempt at frauding them. I thought a bit of common sense after looking at my account and given me a break. Maybe my harsh treatment will be a lesson to others. Still not sure to contact them again and see what they might add.

Agreed

The more people start bitching and moaning on here, the less likely giveaway are to sort you out. I know it would p*ss me off if I was TAB.

(And yes I know I was in the same situation a while ago, but we move onwards and upwards)

I have sent another support ticket and in the subject put 'addressed to TAB' due to there being no other way of addressing it to him/her so hope to hear soon from TAB who might help me.

I agree with giveaway, you should have read the rules before getting your brother to sign up, its clear in the T&C and its not an accidental sign up because you physically had to find & give him your ref link and then he had to sign up, but you clearly did not read the rules first which is why they will not take you off hold i would not have thought.

Re: sonyps3giveaway - how harsh are they?

Well it is a bit hard to converse with my brother who is in the army, in another country. Last time I spoke to him I just mentioned my website, which explains the details. Like most things l3link182 it is not always that clear cut, I know there are rules which I am sure all on here follow but when you tell someone about your link and they go home and complete it. What is stopping someone else in the same house doing the offer regardles of you originally telling the user of the rules, seems some thing that is out of your controll but you will get punished for. I just thought wiping someone off your referal list would be the most straight foward way of doing things, as long as this is done before you were to verify your referals.
