Reporting scammers to networks

How do you go about reporting a trade scammer to the network. A guy I'm trading with (on another forum, yes I know learnt my lesson the hard way) still hasn't signed up since I greened for him the easter bank holiday. I've given him on last week (in case he's on holiday with the schools) after which I will be reporting him to kudos.

And I was wondering what exactly I should be reporting. I guess the networks know and condone trading so do I report that he didn't keep up his end of the trade or simply request my account be unlinked from his.

Re: Reporting scammers to networks

i dont think that would work because the networks have no proof of whats happened so people could keep sayin that others hadnt signed up for them, or requesting greens be taken away from people or w/e

worth a try tho mayb to see what they say? cus kudos customer support is ace isnt it?

The forum that you traded on should have a support section why not try that

Re: Reporting scammers to networks

Since none of the networks actively encourage you to trade, I guess the only thing you could do is ask the network to remove you as a referral for whoever you signed up.

Re: Reporting scammers to networks

I'm going to PM him and threaten to report him or get my referral removed from his account (which obviously means a green being removed). I'll see what he says then.

TBH I'm not sure the guy will really be bothered. He said just before easter he was giving up (whilst we were in the middle of a trade after I'd done the offer) then changed his mind after when my offer went green and he got a couple more. But he hasn't posted for a couple of weeks so I don't know if he has given up again or just been away during the school holidays.

Re: Reporting scammers to networks

I'm sure the site owners won't do anything. I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to trade and to be blunt it isn't really their problem.
They have a sign up which has gone green which they will get paid for, which is why we all go to work.

I personally if I were running a site wouldn't even respond to email/support tickets about trades going wrong because it has nothing to do with the network, what would you actually achieve by complaining?

this other site, does it start with g and end with the word free?
if you feel you've been scammed by a mod on the site, contact the main site mod about it. i had to when i was in your position.
in the end, i had a voucher for amazon.

Re: Reporting scammers to networks

not much you can do really, the networks dont want to take the time involved in investigating trades before they take action, in case its a one sided story etc (they do listen to me when I pass on details though, guess thats to do with exceems reputation)

The only thing you can do is request the link between you and him gets removed, or if you dont wish to continue on that site, ask for your account to be placed on hold - in the networks eyes the scammer has not broken any of their t+c so there is little they can do

(and in future trade on eXceem, and never go back to the other forum!)

Unfortunatly freepay are the exception to that statement, any emails I send get a reply but no indication of if any action has been taken etc

Re: Reporting scammers to networks

I think I have been scammed by a mod/admin on same forum.

Still hoping I havn't been, it would of been my first green and I spent all weekend sorting out problems with the network as they said I was not showing as a referral (don't know if that was true).

Ben could you let me know which mod sorted it out for you, I saw a thread (after I did the trade unfortantly) but it didn't say if it had been sorted out.
How come they are not on scammers board - do they delete or change the posts?

What makes me sick is that I have spent the last week convincing people it's not a con, sent them all the links to join the forum and I get scammed. Not gonna do great for my rep if it happens to one of them too.

I really hope I'm wrong and I can post back here tomorrow to say it's all been sorted out and I can get rid of the sicky feeling I have in my stomach.

Just wish I had found Exceem first.
