What freebie gets the most attention?

hi guys

im thinking of new strategies on how to gets some greens (as my site has not been doing too well recently) and was wondering what people find is the most popular freebie that either you yourself want or what your sign ups are signing up for. I've added a poll to this but please say something as well lol.

i know there have been these before or similar at least but i feel its time for an updated one.

i think it's mainly kids after 360's PS3's and Wii's.

i would look for freebies that there are not alot of websites on

u would get more greens that way i rekon

the most popular in terms of sites, i would say was the ipod touch

just as some other extra research that i have done and will hopefully help others is a google trends search ive carried out

looks as though ps3 is the most searched for, its funny to look at the peak in all of them over Christmas.

after yu trade for a while, i guess you sign up to most of the sites and are unable to trade, do you turn to sites to get greens? (sorry, trying not to hijack this thread)

It does vary from the time of the year, and whats happening in the outside world, during the run up to the World Cup in 2006 HDTV's were all the rage, in the run up to Christmas it was all about the consoles, in the run up to the iphones being launched it was all about the iphones

That's exactly right, I first got started two days before the Wii launched and I got 29 greens in about 8 or 9 days because of it (okay 14 ended up going on hold, but still) and I got great greenage post iPhone release too.

I guess the moral of the story is to adapt and watch out for the latest trends and must have item.

yeah i guess thats very true, perhaps making a broad site with a name that does'nt specify a particular product would be best and the adapt it so the most popular at the time is focused on more.

interestingly the Google trends link above is for uk and ps3 is on top but in the USA iphone is on top, way on top.

however saying that I didnt feel there was that much interest in teh macbook air when it came out.

I would personally like a HDTV at the moment however I voted 360 as I think games consoles are still extremely popular.

I think the fact that its around 50 Refs might put a lot of newbies off. A wii or DS or even an iPhone don't seem too daunting if you are new but I think a macbook air might.

I've found that it's mainly the console area of freebies people like.

- Wiis are more popular among the older generation (often looking to get a Wii for their children or themselves)

- PS3s and 360s are quite popular among teenagers looking to get a free games console

- Ipods for the more sceptical (This is basically me), who wish to test it on something small, then build up to other gifts after it works.

Of course, this all depends on who the site is aimed at.

I think with a lot of sites the custom order option allows you to get pretty much anything you want so wouldnt this be popular? Whenever i sign up to a site this is the first thing i look for. Anyone else do the same?

I went for the Wii with this vote
I attracted tons of action around xmas but, it's gone a bit quiet now.
The Wii is more of a family fun console so i think that may drag a wider range of tastes.
Trouble is, you still can't get one sent throo a freebie site - cos of the lack of availabilty!
