Question on signing friends/family.

Hi peeps. I have a couple of brothers who are willing to sign up to one of my offers but they have no internet access. Now from what i've read they can't use my computer to sign up due to ip tracking. Is that right? i mean they will be signing up with there own debit cards with there own addresses etc, just using my computer. Even my wife wants to sign up to help using her own card etc and she plays a lot of bingo!!
Any help appreciated as usual, thanks .

your wife is a no no as she lives at the same address (well i hope she does lol ) as for the ip , most networks do not allow you to sign up from the same pc but before they do anything it would be worth sending a support ticket to whichever network you are working on to double check , its better to know than to go on hold after everyone has spent their money.

Re: Question on signing friends/family.

IP address’ are used to try and identify fraudulent accounts as if you could sit at home and create 10 accounts then everyone would be doing it. Generally the safest way is to use have different people with different addresses and different credit cards sign up from different networks then you know you’ll be fine

However if you have no other choice then I’d suggest you create a support ticket for the specific network and explain your situation. Then you’ll know one way or another

edit: pressed post quick reply but took 10 mins so just repeating what Claire said!

Re: Question on signing friends/family.

Cheers Stephen N , it's a bit of a shame as I know for sure my brothers would be well in to lovefilm as they rent dvd's all the time. It also works out a bit cheaper than rental up here from the shops and the no late fees would go down well with them! I'll ask monkeyegg or moviedrome what they think, or if you read this let me know in here as it's on the freebieejeebies network. Ta for now.

Re: Question on signing friends/family.

Hi Fidzer, we've had to change our T&C to prevent people from signing up with the same IP address because we have had people misusing our sites. The only exception to this is schools/colleges.

It can also cause problems when completing the available offers because the sites we advertise have their own T&C and these often prevent same IP sign-ups too.

bad idea using public computers, as others may have used the same computers to sign up.

Yeh but I thought it was ok to use library, school, uni etc computers because the networks can usually tell?! I think that's what FJ's said anyway.
